Default Is this supposed to be unmoddable?

Any time I change the value of any figure in either export_descr_unit or export_descr_building, although I will be able to start up a campaign, I will not be able to load them. Ever. It simply auto errors and quits the game.

Is this intentional? All I did was remove merchants from the game and power up trade buildings correspondingly, although I have observed that changing the attack value of baghlah from, say, 18 to 19 will produce the same effect.

It happens in all the campaigns. I have the latest versions of this mod, which seems to be a lot more unmoddable than 2.2 (where I could change a good number of things in 1547 while still being able to load).

Am I doing something wrong? This is an incredibly awesome mod otherwise, thanks Uanime5.

Some changes aren't save game compatible. So if you save your game, make a change you, then try to load the old save it won't work.

If you make any changes you should start a new game.

Cool....Except that I have tried saving and then loading the same game through the game menu whilst still in the campaign...Same problem, auto error and close.

I have also tried changing the files in the source folder of the submods and then rewriting it using Conquest XP....Still doesn't work.

There's a bug in the 1230 campaign that prevents saves loading. I've posted a patch here:

Do any other campaigns have this problem? If so which ones?

I have a modding question, though it isn't related to the previous question, ( didn't want to clutter your board), how can I edit the recruitment times of the units? I apologize if this has been asked somewhere else. Also wonderful mod without a doubt I find this to be the most enjoyable mod for Kingdoms!
I hope to see great things update with this mod and throughly regret that it isn't more well known. P.S. on 1080 I think I was playing Ireland and some of the resources on the map came up as Asian buildings. Is that intentional?
I apologize if my post comes off as rude.

To edit recruitment times you need to edit the 'stat_cost' in the 'export_descr_unit.txt'.

In the example below the '2' means this unit will take two turns to recruit. If you change it to 1 this unit will take one turn to recruit.
    Code:
    stat_cost 2, 370, 150, 75, 55, 495, 4, 70
The problem with the Asian buildings occurs because I didn't add a file to the 2.2 version, so each campaign uses the 1547 campaign's hidden resources rather than the correct hidden resources.

You could use the find and replace (Control + H). This will quickly replace all the 'stat_cost 2' with 'stat_cost 1' or whatever you want them to be.

Argh, I keep trying to add colonial things to this game-As in, allowing factions to recruit native troops out of their homeland should they meet a certain set of requirements, due to infuriating circumstances such as not being able to win with small factions ever, such as Scotland or Venice, simply because they can never raise enough quality troops to do anything, or not being able to invade Europe properly as any eastern faction due to retraining constraints. But that being said, not being able to train another factions' basic units is also annoying. Is there any way simulate this without hitting some manner of hardcoding limit? I tried making 4 different buildings per faction, 2 for castle and 2 for city for 'tiered' upgrades, but this breaks the building limit. I have tried to reduce it to 1, with the requirements set to both religion and building_present_min_level, but apparently MTW2s' engine does not like this and crashes. I've also tried making specific duplicate entries inside the parent troop training building (eg one highlander normal entry and one after that requiring the existence of a colony), but this also hits a hardcoding limit and crashes.

    fffffffffff.....

Thanks for making this though, Uanime.

This mod already has a series of building that partially do this. For example the 'british_barracks' allows the Scottish, English, Irish, and Welsh factions to recruit castle units in cities. If you remove the required building requirements, such as 'and building_present_min_level city_hall royal_town_hall', and delete the
hidden resources requirement from units, such as 'and hidden_resource united and hidden_resource north', then you'll have a building that can be built in any city that lets the faction recruit some of their better units.

Regarding the hardcoded limits you only need to add 30 buildings (one per faction) as you can make a building buildable in a city and castle by removing the city/castle requirement. For example

    Code:
    british_town_guard city requires factions
Can only be built in a city but

    Code:
    british_town_guard requires factions
    Can be built in both.
