    We haven't been able to make our own yet so we're using some placeholders from other mods but they're going to resemble a proper faction at least. As Bull says its mostly strong skirmishing cavalry with some simple infantry for now.

    (that's a hint at Rez: been busy all day figuring out bone weighting. I managed to make a complete unit - a horse archer - from scratch, so we're at least good for the Baktrians).

    Bringing in from the other thread, as this is pretty important. It's about the Ionian/Dorian hoplites and my suggestion on removing their bronze cuirass:

    Not as much as you'd think.     They're completely obliterated then.
    Same goes for 1 Sparabara and 1 Takabara, or 1 Sparabara and 1 Asabari. Strength of the east lies in combined arms.

    Which still means I have to bring three units to their one. Which is not realistic, as the combined arms concept worked even when you don't outnumber the enemy.

    2 units, actually.
    1 full combined arms stack vs 1 full hoplite stack (a balanced one) is different than 1 vs 3 units, btw.

    Bottom line you aren't going to see 1 unit of Sparabara beat 1 unit of hoplites.

    No, it isn't. The hoplites are invlunerable to anything that doesn't outnumber them 2 to 1. Which is not realistic.


    @rez I don't want that; I just think there should be a way of beating them that doesn't involve AI reinforcements.

    remember that 1 hoplite unit has 60 man vs 1 unit of sparabara of 80 men. Unit vs Unit wise, this doesn't matter, but when you're fighting with stacks, it does.

    It also spoils battle result screens - I hate seeing I only won because I had 600 more men than the enemy.

    600 more men that used combined arms, though. The cost of hoplites will also be adjusted, so don't worry: they'll be balanced.

    What about multiplayer? I think I will do a seperate MP EDU, and release it on mah own. If I find a way to make it compatible.

    The RoP edu is already balanced for that - we just need to redo it. Go check for yourself: every unit has 2 entries: a "campa" or "campu" and a "custa". Campa/Campu is for campaign, Custa is for multiplayer/custom battles.

    I never had the idea... Anyway, me and ImperiumIV tried playing it online - couldn't make it work.

    None; we're improving the existing factions
    Besides, if we'd want to add new factions, we'd have to remove existing ones, because we've hit the limit.
