Icon5 Question about an article I would like to share.

Hello. I have found an article from a 1945 newspaper clipping, which I am in physical possesion of, dealing with a contemporary matter. Would it be illegal, or against the forum rules, for me to transcribe it for the benefit of the forum members?

I'm sorry if this is not the proper place for me to ask this question; I actually have several old newspapers which contain items that may be of interest to the members of the forum, which I would like to transcribe when I have extra time. Thank you.

As long as you provide a proper reference for the article, then it should be ok.

Nothing wrong with transcribing newspapers so long as their cited. Otherwise a whole lot of history would be especially hard to write, especially local history for small towns.

Ok thanks, but how do I cite it if I only have a page of the paper?

Have you tried a google search of phrases from it? You might turn something up that way and find a source.
