    Icon4 Radious AI Mod !!!! + (RotS and FotS versions)




    Biggest AI Overhaul for Shogun 2: Total War.

    As always my mods not telling you how to play the game, my mods letting you choose how to play the game. If all my mods are put together they create large overhaul mod, but i prefer to cut it to many pieces and each piece is offered in many different versions so YOU decide how your game will look like. Have fun.

    This mod is fully compatible with latest Shogun 2 patch and all dlcs !!!!

    Changes:

    Biggest and most updated AI overhaul mod for Shogun 2.


    1. AI produces less archer units
    2. AI produces more infantry, mainly heavy infantry
    3. AI produces bit more horses, siege and rifle units

    4. Better AI building logic - AI should build buildings in better order, do not spam markets everywhere, prefer units buildings
    5. Better AI building logic - AI should build bigger castles, faster upgrade farms, roads and special region buildings
    6. Balanced Autoresolve - more logical counting (horses better then bows, yaris better then horses, katanas better then yaris - its logical and mainly cancels vanilla thinking = bows crush everything and everyone at any time)
    7. Balanced AI spending logic - AI should invest money more into buildings and armies, prefer faster constructions, create larger armies and be bigger challenge for player. AI should also prefer more military buildings over economic buidlings, which were spammed before very often.
    8. Clan preferences changed - according to clan bonuses will now different clans prefer different units more (Date: No-Dachi Samurai, Shimazu: Katana Samurai.....)
    9. AI logic improved - AI should try to defend its cities better, should try to retake lost provincies more often and faster, should trade more, give higher priority to city upgrades and faster research, should help alies more
    10. Bigger differences between clans - Major AI clans should behave different then minor clans, they should attack more, defend its cities better, develop and research bit faster, taking care of its own cities better, so if they survive they are much better oponents to a player then minor clans. This doesnt mean they Minor clans will suck now, but Major clans should behave bit more agressive but careful at the same time.
    11. Ai cheating reduced - no more crazy army spawning and too big bonuses. Ai is improved enough to be a challenge on higher difficulties without these bonuses.

    - Other changes in all of my mods are working without issues same for original Shogun 2 campaign and Rise of the Samurai campaign, so these things didnt need changes and are included in both campaigns.

    Important info: All my mods created until today are fully compatible together and no matter which version from them you will use. You can use them seperately, but for best gaming experience i recommend to use them all together. There may be some problems with other mods which modding same files. I hope you will enjoy them and they will bring you better times with S2TW.

    This mod is fully compatible with latest Shogun 2 patch !!!! Supports Ikko Ikki and Sengoku Jidai DLCs.

    Installation:

    Choose one version which you want to use and place file in your Shogun 2 Data folder. This can be found here - Drive X:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\total war shogun 2\data
    (so extract the .pak file to the above location, OR extract the file, then copy and paste to the location in bold above)

    A comment, if you're going to improve on the AI then this particular mod perhaps should've been posted in/moved to the Compilations and Overhauls-section as AI-adjustments are slightly more extensive than a tweak. Good to see you're modding actively.

    I would like to have all my mods on one place and sofar this mod is just minor AI tweaking, i am planning to improve AI in more ways, but first start from basics and biggest issue was this archer spam.

    AI is very complex as it was in every TW game, modding it is not easy at all, but i was talking with other AI modders and they said my changes are good and make sence and should work. I tested it myself and really noticed LESS archers and more everything else. There can stil lbe armies with archers (if in city ai has archery Dojo) but they should spam it less. Agin for best experience i recomend it to use with my other mods. Its still basic version so any feedback will be great.

    Did some further testing and it seems AI really trying to produce other units. Archers are limited now and i can finaly see some other units which i hardly saw before.

    thanks, itching to try your "improvements" as theres so many little things irking me about S2TW atm, BUT im determined to finish my current campaign and im only 21 provinces into it (40 province victory conditions), and realm divide is a real pain in the butt! i really gotta make sure this is disabled or at least limited for my next campaign (sorry off subject) but the point is, i cant try your improvements for a good while yet as my next campaign will be weeks away!
    on the bright side, all the little "creases" will be sorted (if any) with your mods then, so as i said, i cant wait (but ive gotta lol )

    Hello Sir, yes mod should work without problems and AI should adapt to the new changes and behavior. But it wont effect already created armies, so you will be probably able to see some armies where can be many archers - could be created before applying mod or in city where is primary structure Archery Dojo.

    That's great news, I will install your mod right away... I assure you Radious your mods were the best when I consider Napoleon, I used almost all of them together!

    You are wonderful, keep em keepin' man!

    Perhaps it would be very good if could make a mod that tweaks archer damage and realism a bit, a tiny mod like these you have already

    Thank you for your kind words.

    As i stated in my Stats mod i am planning for tommorow some upgrade for range units - bows + rifles. Some balance changes, range etc etc.

    Need to first properly test it, then people can expect release.

    I have good news for people who still didnt try this mod - 2 campaigns played with 2 different people and both confirmed me that Archer spam is practicaly gone. AI usually dont have more then 2-4 archer units in the army and keeping that in perfect balance. I was playing myself when i had free time, had about 8 large battles and in all of them AI had max 5 archer squads. Great. :-)

    Since recruitment is fixed in my eyes now, i am planning to do another version with improved AI logic which structures to prefer and build and in which order. I guess this wil be bit harder, so when i will have some interesting results i let you know.
