Hmmm. You sure you didn't get some kind of victory scroll or pop up in the game and you closed it out without realizing it.
I've yet to beat the campaign. I get besieged 3 turns into the campaign and lose. lmao

No. Actually a couple turns later, the mission autocompleted itself when I captured another settlement (that was not Kyoto). Still didn't get any kind of victory message or video though. Not sure what's supposed to happen exactly.

You get victory awarded only on the 4th turn after occupying Kyoto, I think. Maybe the game considers Kyoto as "uncaptured" until that time, so it pops up as a side-mission?
Did you not get the final victory awarded after 4 turns?
