    Default Pikemen

    I'm tryin g to make an alternate version of the Opelchenie with pike instead of musket.

    But it doesn't work well...

    Anyone managed to do something similar?

    what doesn't work well? Crash wrong animation, no animation no weapon?

    I gave them the cavalry lance weapon.
    When static, they hold it correctly upward (except the tip is in the ground).
    But when they attack, the hold it up, but extend their arm behind them, and the have the other hand, empty toward the ennemy... doing nothing

    They don't use the pike to stab .

    That's because they are still using their swordfighting animation, but they don't have a sword. Rather than editing the Opelchenie, it would probably be easier to import the pikeman unit from ETW (it may still be in the data.pack), and give that the Opelchenie unit models, stats and descriptions with PFM. There is a mod for ETW which lets pikemen fight with their pikes. Just giving a unit a weapon isn't enough. you also need to give it the corresponding animations and drill doctrine in PFM. Also, it would be better to give them the pike weapon rather than the cavalry lance, as infantry can't hold that correctly.

    I am currently trying to do the exact same thing. I haven't tried what angry gamer suggested, but it should be a good start.

    Is everything I may need included in this mod?
    It looks small, only a few file.
    Also, what weapon should I use? Is there a pike included in NTW, even if no unit is actually using it?

    This small file is all what you need to get it working in ETW so i think it will be enough for ntw, too.

    The Pike itself should work, though i have no expierience how the ntw units work thogther with the equipment files.

    I tried to go back to it

    I'm at a stage where, after adding your animation, the guys seems to be holding the weapon correctly.

    Except they don't have any weapon in hand!

    In the Unit_stats_land table, I use
    - Animation : man_pike
    - Warscape equipment: generic_cavalry_lance

    What else should I change so they actually have a weapon in hand?

    You also have to give the unit the weapon in the variant file of the soldier.

    Thanks, it works. However, I have only the cavalry lance at my disposal.

    Is it possible to get the pike from ETW? Could you share it in that case?

    To get it working you have to make an entry named gen_pike in the warscape_equipment_items table.
    Then edit the other tables you already mentioned. As name in the variant files you have to insert:

    rigid_equip_gen_pike
