BUG - Takeda cannot recruit Great Guard

I've listed this up on the .com forum, but figured I'd put it up here too as it is "$£$-ing me off. I had spent the majority of the campaign looking forward to using maxed out charge Takeda Great Guard

Anyway....

All the clans with the exception of the Takeda can recruit an additional "Great Guard" unit to the one they recieve, once they satisfy building, resource and Shogun-hood requirements. Following declaration of Shogun-hood, the Takeda receive a vanilla "Great Guard" unit in addition to the "Yari Cavalry", the ships etc. The Takeda Shoganate player is unable to recruit the additional "Great Guard" unit or indeed any "Takeda Great Guard" units.

If one looks in the STW2 encyclopedia, there are no building requirements for the "Takeda Great Guard", as opposed to the building requirements listed for the "Great Guard". Therefore the inability to recruit "Takeda Great Guard" is either a design choice, or a bug. I'm going with bug.

I can not recruit Chosokabe great guard too

I always though Tokugawa only had Great Guard, because historically, Great Guards were Ieyasu's body guards. But hopefully this will be fixed in allowing all clans to have them.

Any idea how to fix that? I play as Takeda and all my armies are based on cavarly(max. upgraded Takeda Katana Cavarly is extremely uber powerful, the only thing able to stop them is Yari infantry), so I want to put Great Guard into my armies too.

Can Takeda recruit normal "great guard"? or are they absent too..?

you need the highest stables in kyoto i think

ok , found the problem and managed to fix it with a lttle mod file. there is a save game to test it. For fix to work I had to start a new campaign, sorry cannot fix current campaigns. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=444459 post#12 contains a pack file to drop into your data folder and a save to try it out.

I looked for a file in the post you mentioned but I don't see anything. Did you remove it due to some error that came up later on or that crash you mentioned earlier in the thread?

Do you have the 3 requireents:

1. Naginata Dojo in province you want to train Great Guard
2. Bajutsu Master Dojo in province you want to train Great Guard
3. Any province you own that has warhorses or trading with a clan that has warhorses

You must have all 3 in order to build Great Guard

I am unsure about anything regarding Kyoto. Sorry.

All the above requirements are met in my current campaign, however I cannot recruit the Takeda Great Guard as well. Therefore the problem lies elsewhere, unless the Takeda clan is not meant to recruit this unit.
