On-Hover selection markers removal?

Is there any way to remove just the ring outlines when you hover over a unit, friend or foe?

I love having the selection markers on, because when you have a unit selected it makes it much easier to make out where that particular unit's men are in a battle.
But i absolutely hate the slight markers that appear when just hovering over a unit, when you're trying to observe a battle without having any units selected the pesky feet-rings makes a mess of it

Any ideas? I suppose one way would be to simply make that .png transparent? I have no idea where it is located though.
