    Default Larger Spawned Garrisons

    Seeing as how the AI likes to leave its castles without any garrison forces, I decided to create a small mod which increases the number of units spawned for defence. This way you won't be facing anymore sieges defended by one unit of Samurai retainers. The new garrison forces are:

    Fort:
    1x Samurai Retainers
    2x Yari Ashigaru
    1x Bow Ashigaru

    Stronghold:
    1x Samurai Retainers
    2x Yari Ashigaru
    2x Bow Ashigaru

    Fortress:
    2x Samurai Retainers
    2x Yari Ashigaru
    3x Bow Ashigaru

    Castle:
    1x Onna Bushi
    2x Samurai Retainers
    3x Yari Ashigaru
    3x Bow Ashigaru

    Citadel: (unchanged from vanilla, as I think it's strong enough)
    1x Onna Bushi
    3x Samurai Retainers
    3x Yari Ashigaru
    4x Bow Ashigaru

    Also, I have tested this on 5 new campaigns and it has really helped the AI get a footing at the start, no longer are clans destroyed after the first turn. Each of the 5 test campaigns was played through 5 turns and in each of those the Oda was never destroyed, in fact the only major clan with was destroyed was the Hattori (this occured in two tests, once afer 3 turns and the other after 4). Other then that the only clans which were destroyed in these tests were a few random minor clans after a few turns.

    Just drop the mod in your data folder and enjoy. Also its perfectly compatible with saved games, so no need to start a new campaign.

    If it doesn't change the "building_level_armed_citizenry_junctions" db, then yes it will.

    Just checked, and yes it is compatible with Shogun Realism.

    Thank you so much for this, hopefully this might make Oda not die on turn 1 on every campaign. And no more empty castles

    Just to let users of S2R know, in our latest internal betas we also have something similar already with garrisons, so in the future there might be conflicts with this mod. For now however, use it, definitely should improve the game.

    Yea, I see that some of the larger mods are starting to include larger garrisons aswell. Darth Vader has it in the latest version of his mod (1.35), but his seem to be larger then mine. I didn't want them to be too large because then the player can take advantage of them and you wouldn't have to worry about protecting your own castles.

    It does look Oda lost in 2 round after i took your mod in my Shogun 2 datafile... So i think it mays better to set 1-2 extra garrisons to oda clan ONLY. Other clans get same as you made. But Oda's garrions need extra 1-2. Since they got war against 3 clans.

    There is no way to isolate one faction and give them extra garrison units, you would have to give them extra units in the startpos.esf which my mod doesn't do. Sure it doesn't gurrentee that Oda or any other clan will survive, it just increases the odds, in the 5 tests I did Oda surived past the first 5 turns. I guess they were just unlucky in your campaign.

    Hmm - after 4 rounds since i play other clan.

    Oda destoryed. Takeda's famous Shingen was killed in battle. We knew Takeda have no fear

    But i am sure it works if you set Stronghold to Oda only in first round. It helps?
