I'm in the planning stages of a Eastern Roman AAR in Attila. I've thinking about it constantly lately and I'm getting urge to pick up the pen I hope to learn from it and show off my favorite faction in Attila
"Hey guys. I hope all is well... Keep quilling it up," said Dance, heartily, as he disappeared into the shadowy abyss from which he appeared...
"There's nothing in that shadowy abyss" they said. "Dance is long gone, you're hearing things" they cried as they dragged me into the asylum.

Thought I heard Dance in here? Nope? Alrighty then, must have been mistaken!
Typically I listen to music, sometimes of the culture I'm writing about. I often write for an hour or more, then return to the writing and flesh it out into several updates
I am happy to announce that Merchant of Venice has been appointed as the new Deputy Director for the Writers' Study and the Critic's Quill.
Please join me in warmly congratulating our new Deputy Director .
Gentlemen, I think I've found the solution.
Writing about something you like helps the writing a LOT.
My story is in my head, thus far.
Like I said before, I focus more on the concept.
Here's the idea, as it just fleshed itself on its own accord, last night.
Imagine a race of alien warriors, on a medieval like planet. These guys get off on war. Because they need energy to survive, they're kinda like the Parasite from Superman TAS only they drain other living beings with their eyes only
'Eyes being windows of the soul' and all that.
Now, they may sound sinister, but these are the good guys. Let's call them Vods.
Which is short-form for their real name.
Their enemies, are parasites. Yeah, parasites of parasites. While the Vods have their energy stored on the inside, the Kvins have the energy stored on the outside. Basically, they're advanced energetic life-forms.
What's their relationship with the Vods? Well, it's kinda like Day & Night, one follows the other, one cannot live without the other, one cannot extinguish the other and so on.
So, they basically feed off the Vods, whenever they can. The Vods through their life-cycle of constant combat and replenishing of their life-force are a stable source of energy for the Kvins.
Now comes the tricky part. The Voraks. They're a mutation of Vods, immune to Kvins influence and with a voracious appetite.
Where a Vod eats the life-force, a Vorak eats the flesh and bones.
So all these species fight for supremacy on this single backwater world. In which humans are nothing but prey.
How does the background sound?
Please tell me this is an original idea and I haven't lost 7 years of my life for nothing!
