It is indeed. Unfortunately the current TotW hasn't been put to vote, simply because it's a very busy time of year for the staff here. Rest assured it will be up and running again as soon as possible.

I just got an idea while simply enjoying the evening breeze in my balcony. Would anyone be interested in a CW story based around Ashoka? I really don't hold much with the bland melodramatic approach that is portrayed in media, and I have a vague idea in my head how to proceed with this?

    Thoughts?

That could make for an interesting subject; hadn't heard of the guy before, but I can't imagine someone with the nickname "the great" or "emperor of emperors" to be particularly boring Sounds interesting, a man going from destructive conqueror to philanthropic Buddhist would definitely make for good reading! Do it M!

Easier said than done, as the person had lived more than 2,000 years ago. The main sources about him are secondary historical thesis, which are at best, not to be taken as complete facts.

Are there any Lord of the Rings fans that would enjoy my take on the Battle of the Fords of Isen? It has always been one of the most fascinating tales of the war from Tolkien's literature that I have read, and as the version of Tolkien exists only in Unfinished Tales, I figure that there might be some reader's of the books who do not know the story of the battle, or some people who have read the Unfinished Tales and would be entertained by my own version.

I really need something to work on just to stay sharp while I work on attempting to construct my own actually creative story

The story of a single man of Dale - A Dalesman far from home
