Classic Battle,have you tried?

Even after the patch came out today the classic battle version of the game I cannot play.

When is that getting fixed?

The avatar conquest is ok but I was hopping for some classic battles.

Classic battle... you mean, multiplayer battle that you can set up, like a "custom battle" in single player? I cannot believe this isn't in the game either... then again, there's still no AA, so I guess we are just going to have to wait.

By Classic Battle I mean the non-Avatar Conquest aspect. In other words you pick a clan and you have access to all the units available.

You have to click the little box when hosting.

Yes I was really looking forward to that, seems like the simplest possible thing for multiplayer. I was shocked when my amigo and I were on team speak, after just buying the game, and hearing him say "I can't seem to find a custom battle option anywhere...."

To play a custom battle do the following:

Click on the multiplayer and click on Avatar Conquest.

New window comes up, click on the Conquest Map top middle.

When that window comes up you will see another icon that looks like a scroll and is titled Battle List.

Click on that.

This is where CA is dropped the ball. The Battle list is exactly that a list of Battles for people to join or host. At the bottom you will see a host button, click on that.

A smaller window now comes up and ask you to put a title on the game you want to host, ask about password and finally there is a little box within the box to check or leave uncheck if you want to fight a classic battle.

Presently I can only host a classic battle through friends already on Steam.

Wait, you are saying that classic/custom battles are available in s2, they are just buried somewhere in the avatar mode?

I get a "failed to host" if i try to host on the internet.
I can't seem to add AI opponents ((((

That's one of the bugs. My son and I have the same game other then I have the vanilla and he bought the limited edition.
His pc is in the basement and mine is upstairs. The only way we can play is when one invites the other through steam.

Other then that we cannot see each other hosting.

Yes this steam is definitely annoying...
Anyway I solved my hosting problems by opening the steam ports in my router.
I had many many more issues with connectivity that also got solved.

Search "steam ports forwarding" on google you should get the list.
