So those were my steps. AUC install consists on two folders data and terrae...

    create an RTW fresh install.
Paste data of AUC 1.7 over RTW/data and paste terrae on RTW directory.
    repeat steps for 1.8

No; just install BOTH into the RTW root directory; the terrae_expugnandae folder should be located BESIDE the original RTW data folder (hint; it should be in the same folder as the RTW.exe).

    Also you dont need to pre-install 1.7 - v1.8 is a standalone

    Hope this helps.

I got serious game lag on loading screen and same birch tree prob. It is winzip and unpacked to RTW folder,so your data folder overwrites the vanilla one. Does it need TE installed first, and yours overwrites that, maybe I missed this?

When i revert the Tex folder back to 1.7 it works. My install now has the 1.8 "data" and the 1.7"tex". That way it works.

So I tried to install your mod... and I failed.
I also get the birch_01 texture error.

I can confirm that it has something to do with the 1.8 version,
because I installed rome 1.5 and than TE Gold 0.7 and everything runs fine.
After installing "Ab Urbe Condita" the game fails to load the campaign map, because of the
    error mentioned above.
Maybe I'm mistaken but I also tried to install rome 1.5 and AUC only - same result.

As there's no version 1.7, I can't even attempt way sertorio worked out.

So, hopefully you can fix this little bug or even narrow it down
I really want to play your mod.

Or maybe somebody could upload the text folder of version 1.7?

So thanks for listening and good luck

Sorry for the late response time; uni work is a nightmare!

Finally managed to identify and solve the crashing problem; sorry about the time it took, but its fixed now =)

Just tested it myself, via reinstallation/implementation of mod files. Currently uploading v1.9 now!

Hi!, i like this mod alot, its all i wanted a mod that just adds graphic's and some good details over the vanilla not too much ofremoddding the hole game, because even the RTW vanella is more fun then medieval...

like EB this mods keeps the vanille style in, but im missing some good skins/units in the greek and macedonia factions, even the germans and the gauls still have some units looking boring like in vanille...

and maybe it can have a few more factions, like the BoII or the belgea or something, cuz only gaul is a bit boring fighting the same barb faction over and over again... but i like it already got a good rome play going on..

playing on H/H and i find it not that hard, only the PC gets sometimes good stacks, but not that hard , but playeble and fun. ;]

Glad you like it; theres only so much I can do with the tools at hand like - but I'll keep releasing updates periodically (as I like to make changes) =P

Hopefully I can address some of the problems you noted in time.

Click on the download link on the 1st page of the thread.

And carefully follow the installation instructions given on the 1st page (they differ depending on whether you bought a boxed/older copy of Rome TW or got it off Steam).

If you need anymore help gimme a shout and I'll see what I can do

I was having the same problem as the people earlier in the thread, where the TE.bat wasn't loading the game properly.

I figured the issue was because of Steam, so I took a look at the contents of the bat file. I realized all it is is launch parameters for the game. Copying the contents of the bat file and using it as the launch options under steam made it work (I don't need the bat file anymore, the game loads from Steam).

For those that don't know how, to set the launch options:

    - Right click on Rome Total War in your Steam library, and select 'Properties' from the menu.

    - Under properties, the first tab, 'General'. At the bottom is a box you can select to set launch options for the game.

    - Copy this ' -mod:terrae_expugnandae -nm -show_err -movie_cam -enable_editor' from the bat file. Make sure there is a space before the dash (-)!!

    - The game should load with the mod from Steam. No need to click the bat file anymore.

EDIT: Obligatory I love this frakking mod! It's been so long since I played RTW, and seeing all the R2TW pictures and video, I had to play it again. I tried Vanilla for a few hours, but the model skins nearly made me puke, as did seeing all those crappy fantasy units.

I'm glad to see that the best mod is still getting cool updates! Very well done, Miles Invictus. Playing as Rome, I didn't seem to have as much of an issue with Epirus as everyone else. Probably because my archers used fire to scare the elephants into rampaging right into Pyrrhus himself!
