No worries husserlTW, we appreciate your trying
Toon, you need Java JRE 64 installed for the jruby64 to install I believe.

I think it may be something related to Microsoft Net Framework version installed, at least net.framework error reporter tries to acces internet through firewall.
husserlTW, can you list net.framework versions installed on your machine?

I would be all for starting a 'new guns' coding consortium. I'm certainly not the best coder/programmer around, but I've got more than enough experience to at least give it a go.
I posted in LM's thread to send me the source code he's got going, as did Husserl, but I haven't heard back, and so far as I know neither has Husserl. Perhaps we should start from scartch from the NTW PFM?

FIX: I've uploaded new fixed files. Also I changed a bit the instructions in installing Jruby so have a look also there. I tried in 3 different machines but all win 7 X 64 and utility runs fine.

Congratulations + rep
balls i am confused. got the program to run now (THANKS! w00t) but i can't figure out how to convert the db files. i can't select individual files, it will only let me select folders, and if i try to select the "db" folder or any of the subfolders it says "Fail." does it need to be in a certain directory or something? i just have it in the location where i keep my mod files to be worked on.
No just select a db folder which includes table folders with their files, as it is extracted by PFM. But have in mind that not all tables can be converted so if it finds a problem it will abort and conversion will fail. It is better convert one by one in the nbegining untill you know which are convertible.

haha oh right forgot about that. and i'm trying to convert files from a mod that have changed names. will that affect it further? i can change the names and then change back.
EDIT: i tried picking folders that i have unpacked that i am pretty sure dogmeat said work with taw tools and still get a fail every time. the file i target ends up in the converted folder in the sc2 directory but it is not actually converted to tsv.
EDIT: you were right of course. i thought some of those tables, specifically character_traits were readable. dammit. i am trying to figure out the fertility to trait so i can increase chance of having kids, but now it looks like it doesn't even have an effect.

Good day.
husserlTW Tell why doesn't work. I do all as it is written. On points.
1) installed Java
2) installed JRuby
3) run both batch files
After installation I choose db a folder which has extract from patch2.pack.
Process start, but then is jumped out by the tablet:
"Conversation is failed, make sure you select a valid db folder"
But I SELECT db folder. Then what folder will be valid
In what an error and how to correct what worked?

HusserlTW hard to put into words how much i appreciate the work of yourself TAW and others - even if there are some teething problems.
Away from games pc atm, but il trial it later - im vista 64bit - i have been using taw tools ok , so if converter runs for me its a java/jruby thing rather than windows.
Edit - Have been getting the error define a valid db path - strange thing is it copies my extracted db to the C:\Shogun2 Converter\DB folder. - but its not unpacked??
Tried running TAW style jruby command C:\Shogun2 Converter\DBC>jruby db_unpack db tsv - from the the C:\Shogun2 Converter\DB folder where extracted db folder now was this was the the error rep.
C:\Shogun2 Converter\DBC>jruby db_unpack db tsv
RuntimeError: Unknown file: "\375\376\374\377$\0003\0002"

Not sure if any of that info helps - good luck.

Ok I have managed to extract the db files into the db file in converter but all the files are still in "pack" format and I cannot open any of them?? do I need to convert again or something? cheers
EDIT: ok I used PFM and extracted units_stats_land, but when I request to use db to tsv it tells me application failed? I have also tried with some files from Darth Mod that have already been open as I thought the units_stats_land may not be viewable as yet, but the same error happens with the files that are viewable?
Thanks for any help

I think I know the problem... Download attached DB.zip and unzip it. Go in Shogun2 Converter directory and delete DB folder completely and all its content. Copy the new one you've downloaded.
Please feedback to change the files in first post.
