Thread: Alternative Unlocking of Factions

    Default Alternative Unlocking of Factions

I had this crazy idea. I know that modders are having issues unlocking the factions because when they set all the previously required strings to "TRUE" instead of "FALSE" and the faction they tried to unlock still doesn't appear on the main menu.

However! What is moddable is various of other information such as name, flag and regions.

So, if hypothetically i went on about "changing" on faction into another, would that not be the same effect?

Take for example Ikko Ikke and Uesegi. I go into the data files and change Uesegi's name, flag and other region ownership to that of Ikko Ikke's and then vice versa with Ikko Ikke. Would that not make Uesegi turn into Ikko Ikke and Ikko Ikke into Uesegi?

Just a theory and i'm not genius with modding so there might be several things that could prevent one from doing the above.

    Much more work, I'm afraid.

Also, I believe it is probably as in NTW , where if you want to unlock, say, the Murakami, you will not only have to set them to true, but also 'replace' one of the main factions. For instance, unlock the Murakami and set the Shiuamzu to a minor faction.
