Thread: Installation

  1. #1

    Default Installation

I have a little problem: I can't start the game. After launching I'm able to see the loading-screen for a few seconds - than ctd.
No beta installed. I already tried to reinstalled the mod - same problem.
Would be glad for some help. THX

    Default Installation

Please ensure that you install both parts of the mod into the correct folders, there are instructions for this on installation.

If you use Vista or 7 you may need to turn off your UAC in order to install correctly.

Take a look at the spoiler pics above, if your install does not look like that, you installed part 2 incorrectly. That could be down to UAC etc.

I would like to play this new fantasy mod, but is it completely mod-foldered?
I'm asking because my policy is to install only mods which don't interfere with the vanilla game.

Also, should we have more detailed instructions for the install process, or is it easy enough?

The mod is installs it self to its own folder, so you don't have to worry about it interfering with the vanilla files.

The install process is basic enough, just download both parts then run the installers for both parts.

If you got steam, you need to create the Akthross folder first into the mods folder as with steam, it does not create an Akthross folder. (In my experience anyway) Then when installing part 2, you need to redirect it to the steam's med 2 folder, mod, Akthross/data. An excellent way of opening mods for Kingdoms is by downloading the Kingdoms Launcher App found here

Make sure you turn off your UAC. That is the most important thing to do.

Check the "Help" tool found on your computer. It should lead you right to it.

Type "How to turn of User Account Control"

    1) Try deleting your VirtualStore (you have to have hidden files visible to see it)

    2) Try restarting your computer after you delete your VirtualStore. After that, make sure it didn't come back.

Also, did you make sure you have Kingdoms 1.5/1.05?
