    This little mod reduces the reload rates of all projectile firing land units by 20%, including MP. I made it for myself to use with Yarkis's Movement Speed Reduction mod but there may be those that think projectile units fire too fast anyhow that'll want to use this.

    Now, why didn't I make different versions with 10%, 15%, 20% and so on? Because in that time I needed to hex-edit unit_stats_land and that took a bit of time and it was easy to lose track. So, in the end, 20% is all there is and it's an average number that works well.

    Since PFM is now working this file only edits the missile units in unit_stats_land_tables and will be compatible with anything not editing these.

    To install just download, unpack with 7zip and drop in your Data directory.

    Version history:

    1.0 Initial release

    1.02 Minor update to remove melee units from the file

    2.00 Updated to work with new units and patch

    wow - much appreciated! i'm too like the speed reduction from yarkis and it will a little bit more balanced! thanks for sharing!

    It is compatible, that's one of the reasons I made it. We are editing different files. MSR is altering battle_entities and unit_movement_modifiers.

    Hehe, yeah. I just met a stack of two generals and all archers, AI. The AI really does spam archers some times.

    Just played a battle with this, works very well together with the reduced speed mod, now the only thing the game is missing for me is better textures heh. The archers are still very powerful though, especially the ashigaru, I do think they should be nerfed a bit, but that can wait until the PFM is out.

    I'm going to adjust archers for sure. I'm thinking reducing range of Ashigaru to 125, for one. But to do that I need to be able to decode projectile_tables.

    I hate how the differnece between ashi and samurai bowmen is the number of men in the unit and that samurai are SLIGHTLY better in a sword fight.

    lowering ashi range would give perhaps a reason to recruit bow sam for those longer range archer.

    if you could lower the dmg or accuracy of ashi as well just a bit, but not bow sam, they'd really have a worthwhile reason to be recruited, lonegr range, better accuraccy... less men

    Well, there's where it becomes tricky as that may turn the tide the other way around for the AI if it recruits too many Ashigaru archers. It will go from being somewhat powerful to begin with to way underpowered.

    I think lowering range would just about do it as you'd have two, perhaps three, volleys with Samurai bowmen before the Ashigaru will draw their strings depening on experience-level, upgrades and so on. Now I just need that projectiles_tables decoded

    Yeah, lowering the Ashigaru range sounds like a good plan. That will make the samurai archers more useful to have. Or if possible, you could lower the ashigaru accuracy a lot or something. (I really hope the PFM will be out soon, although it will probably take a while)

    I never play multiplayer, but I think that both players need to use the same mods or else the game won't even connect you. I have no clear idea about VAC in all this, but I think as long as both use the same mods you should be ok.

    Historically, an archer could fire 4 arrows for every 1 shot from a firearm. Can you try to make it similar in your mod once all the tables are moddable?

    The Ashigaru Archers should be slightly slower in firing rate since they were not highly trained like the samurai archer.
