Jeb failed too, he didn't keep Lee informed. Also, Longstreet did fail, but only because the attack was a terrible strategic decision.

It may have worked if Longstreet had followed his orders. Or if he didn't, at least don't suicide part of the group in.

Jeb didn't fail. He took the supply train because they needed supplies.

Best officer was Pelham and Jackson anyways.

Longstreet had the best plans, they just never worked because Lee was too offensive and Longstreet's form of warfare was a low-casualty defensive style. That type of warfare was useless at Gettysburg (though Meade may have attacked a CSA entrenchment, he was stupid enough).

I prefer Jackson's Black Flag strategy. Would have won the war extremely fast.

I still say that the best way would be to defend the border, and send small guerilla fighters to attack strategic points or raid supplies, instead of invading the north.
