    how can I choose what factions there are on the map when I start?
    so I mean eg that when I start as let's say chosokabe, There are only 3 factions and every region is occuppied by one of these factions
    'woto expects that all members of twcenter will do their duty'

    in the startpos you would change the owner ID of the region to reflect the original 2 or 3 that you want. Outside of actually making a modpack though and just leaving it in your data folder and taking it out when you dont want to use it, I don't know how you wouldn't make that non-permanent for any campaign, though.

    There's probably some steps in the scripting.lua involved, but I haven't really dug my heels into hacking shogun2 yet, so don't take my word for it. ^^

    But to more directly answer, it's something like startpos.esf\CAMPAIGN_STARTPOS\CAMPAIGN_ENV\CAMPAIGN_MODEL\WORLD\REGION_MANAGER\REGIONS_ARRAY\REGIONS_ARRAY\REGION, 3rd line is your ID you're looking for (I think!) but I know there's this FAQ that explains who owns what at least in older TW games
