    PLEASE NOTE:
    This mod is discontinued, as far as I know it does not work on later patches and most of the download links are probably dead, I don't have neither the packs or the original files on my computer anymore, so I can't help with links or adapting it to the new versions ,sorry.

    Introduction:

    I really dislike the original look of the units in this game, the colours are just way too much for me, and there's no variation at all apart from some colours. Therefore I have decided to retexture every playable faction in the game. I'll mostly just modify colours etc. But also add a few details, So it's really nothing big, but still.


    Mod Credits:
    -Me, for textures and lots editing, releasing etc.
    -Zowrath, for support, aid and ideas, getting the whole thing started.
    -Yarkis de Bodemloze for the basis of the entire mod-structure, making the whole thing work as it should. (Db-editing, naming files correctly, plenty of advice etc.)
    - The Hedge Knight for advice etc.
    - ToonTotalWar for support, some dbediting etc. for the 1.5 version and the no Horo's fix and much more.
    - McCarronXLD for TROM-versions of the mod.

    without these people this mod wouldn't be possible, so they deserve plenty of credit for it aswell.
    I'm sorry if I've missed anyone, it's not personal, just bad memory! Thanks to everyone in the community for your support, feedback and compliments.


    These mods include my less gloss-mod for the units retextured, since I simply don't think they look good with all the gloss. If you want the gloss back you'll have to edit the .pack-files yourself and import the original gloss-files from the game and replace those in the pack. This mod should not affect any of the other clans. All the screenshots below are taken with the less gloss-files. Enjoy!

    Please report any bugs or issues, or units missing the new textures etc.

    Please note that this mod requires more texture-memory than vanilla Shogun 2, and will probably reduce performance.

    HORSE "FIX" (by me):
    If anyone wants horses without the old colours, here's a small "fix" which removes the faction colours from the horses and gives it a light brown/beige colour instead, this will apply to all factions:

    Thanks a lot to McCarronXLD for this! (he did it), and thanks to the TROM-team for their great mod!

    If anyone wants to make other additions to the mod (for instance, making it compatible with mods that add new units, unit-card mods etc.) feel free to contact me and we'll discuss it, and I can put those mods up here in the first post for those who want it. I can also provide some advice on how to do some of these things, many things could probably be done without modifying any of the bigger files by having a pack thats loaded before these ones, overwriting things like unit cards or db tables.






    And that concludes the mod! Please report any bugs, but try to first disable other mods to make sure it's not just a conflict, but an actual bug in my mod.

    Depending on when PFM is ready, I think I should be able to help you as I did a lot of work on ETW even I never released much of it. We'll just have to re-designate new textures in the tables, but that shouldn't be a lot of work. The hard work is of course making the new textures

    That would be great. Is it possible to release one clan at the time that way? Since the filesize will be quite big if I include all textures, and it's better if people get to choose which textures they want and don't want to use. and how compatible will it be with stat-changing mods?

    If the tables are anything like ETW, and I think they are, the files we got to edit is (in ETW structure):

    This is if the structure is similar to ETW, and we may not need to alter all these files depending on how we go about it. It's more like the maximum files needed to edit, but perhaps fewer. But yes, with stat-changing mods one could expect having to integrate them. Though it is not difficult with WinMerge or similar program.

    Ah, I was afraid of that, but still, it's better than nothing! I'd gladly accept your help when the tools are out, Dbediting makes me crazy, haha.

    I think your'e right, it glows way too much on the Ashigaru, will look into this.

    Maybe those white rounds could be removed from ashigaru completely, or could be changed to a little messier paintjob for realism?

    That's a pretty good idea, I'll keep it in mind, at least for some factions, that would make for more variety aswell.

    Perhaps the clan crest could be where the round white dot is? And it is pretty much round already

    I am pretty sure I saw the triforce symbol on Asigaru in other games, so yes that seems accurate.

    Kind of depends on the crest I think, anything too elaborate like the Date symbol seems like a lot of work for common troops. Right now I can't help but feel like seeing those white dots as nice target markers for enemy archers. Probably why archers are doing so well in this game.
