Heresy - various splinters that don't accept the official priesthood and thus are a problem for the rulers

You know, you could also add Zoroastrianism in there, since the religion was based off of Judaism in the 8th century B.C. Zarathustra went back to his own land in Iran, and the Medes/Persians learned of Zarathustra's "message" and embraced it. Since this is for M2TW, you could do it, since five cultures or religions can be integrated. Polytheism can be paganism, Zoroastrianism can be Islam, Yahawism can be Orthodox Christianity, and Ashurianism can be Catholicism. And of course, heresy can be heresy.

Yes, Zoroastrianism is most certainly a good possible religion to add. It seems to me that in terms of religion it would most likely be the question of having the common polytheistic worldview challanged by different belief systems like Yahawism and Zoroastrianism.

a bit late here but decided to mention
there were two temples for worshipping YHWH in the kingdom of israel,in shilo and dan, which was one of the sins committed by the first king of israel, and the one in jerusalem in the kingdom of judah.
and nehoshtan wasnt worshipped from the time it was created but only later

Don't worry about it, you're not late at all.

I understand your position about the Israelite rival cult centres to Jerusalem although I think that should be in the realm of special buildings.

In regards to Nehushtan I took it as that it had been worshipped almost since it was made.

im studying bible in school, and we learned about that not too long ago.it was only worshiped after they already settled in israel
theyre not rival cult centers, they were made by the king of israel who was afraid that when his people would go to jerusalem for the celebrations of different holidays they would miss being united with theyre brothers from judah and would betray the kingdom of israel,so he made 2 in his own kingdom so that they could go there instead
