I probably shouldn't be posting on this thread, since no-one else has.
But let me just say, I know your imput will be missed by those of us who can't skin/model to save our lives, and artists alike. I understand why you've got to stop though, modding the game is time consuming enough, let alone creating all those flawless models.

My thanks for your all your hard work

Very sad to see one of the more talented modders of the already dwindling mod community retire. Does this mean you stop work on TE as well? If so, that is a big loss. Thanks for your contributions in the past. Peace

You use many different styles within a single helmet. You make a montefortino helmet with cheeck protection from gaulish helmets which is ahistoricall. You have to decide on one type - if you make a montefortino helmet you have to also make a proper styled cheeck protection. I also can see here many elements from Ferres's skinpack.

    Correct:
    montefortino:

Well these are all very old skins, these are my latest Romans:

They feature a more accurate Monterfortino stlye helmet, but i've never claimed that my skins/models are historically accurate.

He actually did. Maybe by accident, but he did. The type of cheek piece you called "ahistorical" is pretty much exactly the type of cheek piece attached to Montefortino type F helmets such as the one found at Cremona.

(cf. M.C.Bishop/J.C.N.Coulston: Roman Military Equipment. From the Punic Wars to the Fall of Rome. Second Edition, Oxford 2006, p.102.)

Yep, there were more types of Montefortino helmets than you think. The Agen/Port type cheek pieces were not universal for al Montefortino helmets.
That's for all Roman helmets, especially the cheek pieces vary often. The Gallic A (also known as Weisenau) such as found at Nijmegen e.g. sports different cheek-pieces than the depicted helmet on your pic, which is from a translated P.Connolly's Greece and Rome at War.

However, the Agen/Port cheek pieces are indeed more appropriate for a "pre-marian" Roman. Older triple disc cheek pieces are also quite an option.

I wasn't criticizing King Louise's work at all, I actually thought he was bashing Lusted's work. To just start posting comments about the historical accuracy of someone's work in their gallery thread after it had been dormant for 5 months seems a little strange to me. IMO I don't think you would find many artists who would do the same thing to King Louise's thread. Anyway, nice models King Louise.
