Written by Stephen Turnbull (renown Japanese military historian and consultant for TW: Shogun 2), the magazine goes into detail about Japan during the 16th century, the historical research and battles that the game is based on.

I just purchased Turnbull's Samurai: A Military History to go along with Shogun 2 and I am thoroughly impressed. Though it is a bit old (1977) it is none the less incredible detailed and I presume due to his reputation, accurate.
