Indeed. I think after they iron out a few bugs it should be a truly great game.

Twelve minutes past three, in the morning, seems awfully early to me!

0Ad. Its hard to imagine it's made by volunteers, for free. Think what people could acheive if RTW hardcode was moddable ...legally!

it would be the best tw , if the engine was open for modding it would become something else, something amazing, im sure CA have nightmares in their beds at night at the merest thought of it

Yeah well, I was most likely in bed at the time. Though I do occasionally stay up that late. (either gaming or as in one night doing crap for school) It's 1 AM right now as I post this.

You realize that we actually voted on attempting to purchase the RTW engine to make it moddable for all members of the community, but CA turned us down?

I realized Magister! And it was not a good signal from CA!

This not only because they show that they are quite closed to the modding community, but mainly because IMO their choice means that they are still working on the same old engine of RTW and cannot open the source!!.....This is not good for games like Empire and Napoleon which really would need a totally new engine!!!....The future games will be again on the old RTW engine?

Oh the ignorance... Shogun II is the best TW game to date, as far as vanillas go, and is just as enjoyable as most mods for RTW and M2TW. You probably haven't even tried it, so stop dissing it. I like it, A LOT.

Also, a patched ETW is a good game. Stop the hater bandwagons already.

No BOM the problem is not if Shogun is or not a good game, The issue is that CA continues to use the same engine to produce new games!
As your words clearly demonstrate, the engine is good for games in medieval or renaissence Age, but if they think to produce games in modern age: IMO the engine cannot represent the modern warfare! If you like Napoleon and Empire, well I'm very happy for you! Probably your historical knowledges about Napoleonic warfare are suitable for that game! Good for you!

Anyway dear BOm, do you now how work with me the words stop discussing it! = I'll continue for sure!!!

...Ah! Blatta your clan in WH40k universe will find that there is only War!! .......and unpleasant surprises!!!.....

Have you tried FotS? It's pretty amazing, and it's 1860's.

.....Ah me?....Well,....so and so!......something is good, something is not so good, and something will be very good!.....

No I do not tried it, but I think that the divisional level, the movement speed, the weapons, the number of units controlled, the maps,....in the end all! in actual TW engine must be changed if you want to represent the post XVII century warfare not in a childish way. CA has to build a radically new engine!....and finally give use the source code of RTW!!!!

I was impressed with Shogun, although I got bored with the Japanese theme. But it would be very nice to have the game engine for late Rome.

I realized Magister! And it was not a good signal from CA!
CA is owned by somebody else, CA does not determine policy on such matters! Sega's policy is anything that keeps, maintains and reserves the flow of dollars.
Proculus: Divine Caesar, PLEASE! What have I done? Why am I here?
    Caligula: Treason!
Proculus: Treason? I have always been loyal to you!
Caligula: [laughs insanely] That IS your treason! You're an honest man, Proculus, which means a bad Roman! Therefore, you are a traitor! Logical, hmm? Ha, ha, ha!

You're speaking of corporate bastards like EA.
Their games suck, but the Battlefield series is badass.
