Bloody hell whose voice is that in Pseudo-Romanus' Rio's IBFD Trailer? Is it Rio's? Amazingly deep and inspirational.

"Fight for yourselves, for your familes, and for THE EMPIRE!" ... can't get enough of it, superbly done!

The sound quality is pretty poor unfortunately, so I'm not sure. I have, however, heard the voice of PSEUDO ROMANUS, when he unleashes "the Monster", and it's a pretty frightening experience...

Here we have some beautiful drawings from a very talented artist named Oznerol.

To the left we have Kushro, and to the right Julian. Give the man some rep!

Heres 6-pack of shields I made for the Iranšhahr, these are all round shields, hints about shapes and compositions of the shields used by different units could be helpfull

This heavy shield depicts a Semurv, quite common in the Iranshahr.

    More in spoiler tags:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    One of most important symbols of Iranshahr and zoroastrianism, Faravahar on this elite heavy shield;
inscriptions say "Ey" "Ra" (could mean a lot) Below it says "Ašha".

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Medium wooden shields:
    "Arta"

Aggressive lion (quite a common depiction in Iranšhahr)

    And finally some light shields:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Elephant: a tottally common sight:

    Letter "A":

These shields are free for all to use!!!

And next i'd like to do 8 different shields (for M2TW to fill all the slots!) for the Parsigh heavy spearmen unit, so help considering shape, size and composition is appreciated.

    Persian heavy spearmen - Frasdârân-i-zręhbârân-i-Pârsašahr

Were recruited in the Persian region of Iranšhahr from the middle class of society; they were indeed mostly true persians and one of few infantry units that could hold ground properly.

I made 8 + 2 different shield textures for that unit to be used in M2TW.
First the Captain (1st) and the Banner carrier:

It says "Parsa" in pahlavan text popular by the commoners on the commander's shield, he is fierce and cunning and killed five in battle - that's quite a lot for his unit.

Although the banner carrier is also the pride of the army, his shield is brand new and depicts the stilyzed derafsh-e kavian (banner of all Iranshahr). However every unit had it's unique banner, so i'l do the banner itself later - it will be characteristicaly persian.

And ofcourse the troopers in spoiler tags:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Initial "A" in pahlavan text, popular among litterate commoners:

"Army of Iran trembles the ground" and "Arta" below in avestan text.

"Iran" in black, avestan text and "Parsa" in pahlavan text.

This bull may not look as agressive as the lion, but indeed it is.

Animal depictions were common and an Elephant was a common sight to any Persian. Below it says "Arta" in avestan.

This is not as sinister as it may look... Although Iranshahr means "Aryan empire" this symbol was common throughout all the ancient world and the Iranians at that time were far from being Nazi, Iranshahr was perhaps the most humane and tolerant society on earth at the time.

This old shield has darkened after years of fighting Rome under hot sun, but "Parsa" is still visible. Below are the soldier's initials.

And last but not least this one is a bit unique, it belonghs to a rich middle classed Persian, that is trying to get into nobility but it's proving difficult, so he doesen't have the right to fight with heavy cavalry; his shield is a bit heavier but smaller than others and his equipment has more gold on it, he is very ambitious indeed, but he is still one of them persian heavy spearmen.
    And forgive my lazynes...

As always everyone is free to use these as they see fit.

Next i'd like to do a simmilar unit from different region of Iranshahr; any information is worth more than a thousand +reps.

    Ghilai heavy spearmen / Artešhtar-i-Ghelanigh

These are simmilar to their persian brothers, their AOR is the southern bank of caspian sea between Azerbaijan and Mazandaraan; their numbers are very limited.
Although they are Iranians of the Iranshahr (like Persians), they are independentalist moutain people. Although elite among the infantry these are just middle class citizens (second lowest of the four castes).

The banner (comming soon) is a vexiloid infantry standard, the carrier's shield is of small size but good quality attached to the banner itself:

The captain had his shield painted with sacred ash (from sacred fire) and a wolf, characteristic for Ghelan. It also says "Ghelan" in pahlavan script.

    And the other "8 soldiers":

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Ghelan is a green region, that is very important for food production in Iranshahr.
The avestan inscription reads "Eranšhahr" and pahlavan "Ghelan".

Ghelan is near Azerbaijan "land of fire", that is known for its strong Zoroastrian devotionism.
The inscriptions say "Arta" first in pahlavan and then in avestan script.

"Arda" in pahlavan on this straightforward aproach:

    "Ghelan" again.

A common Iranian shield with some initials in avestan script.

"Ar" "Ta" on each side of the sun and "Ghelaney" below.

    Glory of the simplicity:

Shield of a devoted zoroastrian; below the winged thing it reads "Eranšhahr"; above "Ahura" (wisdom) and below "Arta". All text is in avestan.

Stay tuned for more! Next will be the most common melee infantry unit of Iranšhahr, the Samšhirdaran (light swordsmen armed with small scimitars or gladius-like swords - NOT the famous iranian longsword that is reserved for the elite).

Mesopotamia is the hearth of Iranšhahr although mostly not Iranian at all - I need more information, so please anything is welcome

    Persian hevy spearmen banner:
-to this rare well equipped infantry unit a silky banner is in order-

    JUSTIFICATION:
It is confirmed, that the parthians used large silkiy banners at the battle of Carrhae; the Sassanid empire was even more vealthy and powerfull - so silk was even more abundant and it is confirmed that every unit had its banner.

    PROOF:

    SASSANID SILKWORK:
(google and you'l find a load of different styles )

    Gilani heavy infantry / Drafšh-e-Artešhtar-e-Ghelanigh
    -unit banner-

I doo hope this unit name is OK...
For the banner, it is not as lavishly decorated as the one I made for persian medium spearmen, but don't be fooled - the unit carrying it is much more effective in battle.

    -to be carried as vexiloid-
