250 turns not enough, though, i think that limit is only for the victory conditions, you should be able to play on long after that has passed.

Longer campaign would demand a more peaceful AI!!

    4 x 55 = 220 turns = plenty of time.

how is 250 turns not enough? besides, 400 turns is not needed, although a question, has anyone actually played through the game? Does it force you to stop at the end or can you keep playing?

I wondering that 300-400 would be enough turns for me, as i do things slowly.

Just extend the date, presuming the game doesn't let you play on already.

The CAI is pretty aggressive and with balancing a huge army and economy, more turns might be needed.

Rhetorical question, i was basically saying that you get plenty of turns.

It's more turns than empire or napoleon

Besides, its always like that, in the beginning you go slow don't have a lot of money or good troops, but as soon as you are a bit advanced in the game, you got so much cash and armies that you start steamrolling

I am wondering this too as I like to move slowly in my games. Not too concerned about winning on the predefined time as much as doing what I like in the timeframe I like.

you can keep playing pass the limit I failed on short campaign and kept on playing bur ended up with the shogunate declaring war on me along with the remaining clans.

250 turns total is plenty, especially since there's no *real* limit. The problem is that unless the player holds back a LOT, it'll never take you that long to win.

It is based on a civil war, it can't just keep going on and on.

And so far for me the CAI has been so aggressive, slowly taking your time with it doesn't seem like the best option.

Anyway someone will make a little mod i'm sure

There are four turns a year though.

And that's how long the Sengoku period lasted anyway!

Which, in my opinion, is the worst flaw of the game. There's no real room for different approaches (as there's always been in TW games, you could either hold back, playing the diplomatic game, building buffers and taking one region at a time, or blitz, or a healthy mix). Here you can only blitz.
Moreover the over aggressiveness of the AI makes them easily exploitable.

The turn total is plenty. It's the depth of the game during those turns that seems to be much lessened, as I always feared.
