    Default Medieval Europe?

Now, i dont know how mod friendly this game is.
But if it is mod friendly, i would love(im sure im not the only one) to see a 'Medieval Europe' mod (Like the medieval series).

I dont either have any mod experience but im aware that this could take ages to complete xD
    just an idea....

I'm sure a serious modder will look into it, but I'm hearing a fair bit of negativity over such things as map editing etc.

As of right now you can't edit the campaign map, so this aint gonna happen.

Whats the point in doing a 'Medieval Europe' mod for Shogun 2? Just go play Medieval II: Total War

Exactly - and you can play that right now, instead of waiting a good couple of years at least!

Yes - but you'll still have to wait a long, long time to play Medieval in Shogun II's engine. So why not just play MTW2?

True, its likely they will revisit the medieval period again at some point. There is still so much to improve on it after all.

Moats and drawbridges would completely change the way sieges would work, and their absence was extremely inaccurate in medieval 2. Naval battles could be added too, historically accurate major cities, unique units that have limited recruitment, much better melee animations, added flails, Customizeable generals, etc. Still a lot of room for improvement.

It's likely Rome 2 or something similar will be made earlier though, which would be a better basis for a medieval mod either way considering the location, warfare and sieges.

I think CA should look into a completely new area of history for the next TW

Like what Africa TW or Inca TW or China TW. Id rather Rome 2 TW or Ancient Greece... that will bring in the sales and then they can make China TW.

I'd like to see a total war game fully embrace the dark ages, starting in 500 and going up to 1000.

Now that actually was a period of total war. Most factions that would be big at that time would be gone at the time medieval 2 started.

Knights could still be included in this, mostly mailed knights with feudal knights being the most powerfull mounted troops.

Saxons, Goths, Eastern Roman Empire, Vandals, Mongols, Franks, Viking raids, religious struggle, it would all be included.

Just that alone caught my eye. Anyone else noticing a trend with Empire and Nappy and now Shogun 2? They've been decreasing the time span. Admitted Shogun 2 is a longer time span then Nappy was, but still... to short in my opinion. I like GRAND games that last for HUNDREDS of years. But yeah, on topic, next game is likely going to be Rome 2 and then followed up with Med 3

dont you think it will get a bit repetitive if it ends up like Medieval III:Total War or Shogun IV:Total War?

Yes. But I really, really, weely, weely want Rome 2!!

After that, I care not where the series goes, as long as it remains on Planet Earth.
