Well after a few hours gaming I've a few things to say about the CAI (some good, some bad, so I'll do the bad first).
First off, wow, the AI really has a hard on for declaring war for no reason (and not doing anything about it). It gets better - they refuse peace even when 20 turns have passed with no fighting or blockading!
CA, you have brought the Empire bug back into the Campaign AI.
Wheres Darth Vader when you need him.....................
Fair enough, it may just be that I was playing on VH/VH (as the Mori) but still - what gives? I dont overexaggurate when I say that every single surrounding clan was at war with me (including several who didnt even share borders eg. the Ito!)
3 of them actively tried to attack me (good use of naval invasions btw) but the rest did bugger all (particularly the Chosokabe. They just sat there and sulked).
Dont get me wrong, I did notice one or 2 gold nuggets in the AI. For example, when I was attacked in the early stages of my campaign both my bordering allies, seeing that I had no army protecting my capital, promptly moved soldiers in and around my capital Aki.
+ Gold star there CA!
All in all its early days yet (I still want to have a crack at the Date clan) but there are a few wee issues that need addressed (toning down AI aggressiveness for one). However, its not as bad as I feared, and the AI does shine at times =)
