Can DMUC be used to play on online campaign or only DM?

Im aware that theres a thread asking a very similar question but I wasent sure if that person was just trolling or not... so I wanted to ask if anyone knew if DMUC (the latest version) was capable of playing on the online campaign beta (and yes there is an online campaign for Empire Total War - http://www.totalwar.com/empire/beta/ -) on surtain forums and posts people say yes but on the same, some times others say no and then theres the people say no DMUC doesent work but DM does I also found this quote from darthmods offical download link "
The multiplayer does not work as indented. Please do not use (It never did work as indented and we have verified it). If you want to play Multiplayer with your friends then use ONLY the DM version." so im really confused and to be honest ive only downloaded DMUC not DM so I dont know the differance I know that DM is just sapost to be closer to vanilla anyways any response would be helpfull.

DMUC might work, but it will probably not. You really should use DM for the mulitplayer campaign. It has the battle and campaign mechanics just as in DMUC, but no extra options, units or other aethetic enhancements.
