Re: Windows 7 - Cant read disk
It could be your dvd-rom is too new.
Disable the UAC, then try it.
See if http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic...e-CD-ROM-Guide helps.

Re: Windows 7 - Cant read disk
Done it, still not working.
Is this likely to be a compatibility issue with windows 7 64bit?

Re: Windows 7 - Cant read disk
Could be. Right-click the disc icon and check "Run as Administrator". May also want to check XP Compatibility.

Re: Windows 7 - Cant read disk
Hi there.
RTW has no problems running under win 7 x64 at all. I for one, do that. I would check the drivers for your dvd drive to see if they are compitable to win 7.

If you can, try the discs in another computer.

Re: Windows 7 - Cant read disk
Can you load any other cds/dvds in the drive? If so, Money would be on a software or firmware problem.

Re: Windows 7 - Cant read disk
Hmm Hi legate. I had some trouble with windows7 64 bit and RTW at the start. Finally went into my user account and disabled UAC. Also check the compatability files in programme files 86 you may have some RTW stuff stuck in there when you first installed.
delete these if they are there. Do you use C-cleaner its a free software and is great for getting rid of old files and old pathways to uninstalled programmes ect.Just go onto the web and you will find it.
When all this is done try to install again.

Re: Windows 7 - Cant read disk
Miles sound driver, again. If you can find it, put it in your main Rome total War folder.
Be sure the game is set to "Run as Administrator" and "XP Compatibility".
