I'm getting my hardcopy delivered. Something about downloading a 20GB game on Steam on release day gives me shivers.

The preload was sublime though. I had a good couple of MB/s, constantly.

could agree more. though my university's network can download off steam at a rate of over 50mb/s.

    Take no chances!

I just popped in the game (disk version) and apparently its downloading 15gb from steam! WTF! I thought if I had the disk version, I could install the game from the disk.

Wait, it's still pre-purchase on steam. Are you just preloading it, or is it actually out?

Don't worry, go back to your disk drive and instal the game again.
    It should say something like:

    Play now
    Re-instal
    uninstal

uninstal the game and try installing it again, it should now instal from the disk.

I had the same problem, its because the steam servers are busy.

dude you guys did something wrong cause it shouldn't download albeit maybe a small patch or something....I have Nappy on disk and I remember steam insisting downloading the whole game rather than installing from the disk. After a couple of retries I managed to get it installed from DVD

Decrypting preload here. So as soon as Steam decides to light a fire under it, I'll be playing the game.

To all the people who are downloading the game even though they popped in the disk:

"Don't worry, go back to your disk drive and instal the game again.
    It should say something like:

    Play now
    Re-instal
    uninstal

uninstal the game and try installing it again, it should now instal from the disk.

Downloading at my maximum speed of 1,3 Mb/s, at 65% now. I'm trying to study while it's downloading but I couldn't handle it and now I'm just lurking the forums writing nonsense.

It took a combined time of 14 + Hours to download the demo, and that was only 6GBs. I always prefer a hardcopy over something digital, as I have lost digital stuff in the past (mostly MP3s), so that - combined with huge download times - has put me off digital downloads for the near future.
