HOUSE OF HADER
if you now intend to include Sweden, i believe that your Kalmar union CoA would better fit for them than for the union. the union flag would be correct as in your minor CoA, for large KU CoA you might perhaps use that of Erik the Pomeranian.
Hr.

We hv the flag of Eric..I'll send it to tokus
HOUSE OF HADER
Hmm interesting, I was thinking to do a unit of levy archer that were throwing rocks for War of the West. Rocks were very often used by besieged armies, extremely cheap in cost, very effective and lot of ammunitions obviously![]()
From the top of a castle wall, a fist size rock could do some serious damage
New peasant units, eh?
A bit of personal (Anglophilic) bias, I think peasants should be armed with bills not pitchforks. Alongside axes, the bill was the most deadly farm implement, and one of the most common on the battlefield. Way more practical and widely used then the pitchforks we see in the stereotypical image of a lynch mob. Thus peasants might have a sliver of actual value.
And axes, everyone had axes back then, and some of us still do now. I think woodsmen (who are just lumberjacks at arms) should be available in Western Europe too. Western Europe had lumberjacks too, seeing as they had forests and trees. Make them available at the logging camp.
As for throwing stones from walls? Maybe instead of a unit we could just put murder holes that drop rocks on enemies that are within 2 meters of the base wall.
I thought that there are already Billman and Vougler militias...
I believe most bows do fire arrows at terminal velocity, but when forced to angle up the arrow would slow down a bit, so there should be a slight advantage from firing from the walls.
There is evidence that even in England fire pots were used to defend walls.
wouldn't want a whole unit to use them though - you'd get people complaining about them not using them coz other bodies were in the way.
(not just fire, also quicklime would be equally nasty.)
hey guys, I present my unit teaser for Wars of the West featuring MY CUSTOM UNITS!!!
