    Default Battle map size + terrain

    After campaign diplomacy and battle AI, this is my biggest hope that CA will improve over RTW. The battle map sizes I thought were far too small and the terrain became such a non-factor compared to MTW. I missed the varied maps of MTW (remember being the attacker trying to take Austria? there was a challenge!) it seems in RTW their are only a few variants of terrain and they are all sorta boring (im really sick of seeing that same map with the three horizontal hills in the center). Height should be a factor again and holding a hill a good advantage. Plus if the AI can properly defend a hill it should be a little tougher for us human players to rampage across the campaign map.

    What I hated about the Battle maps in RTW was that the features were so "large." There was neve a small hil or somthin like that, it was always this big hill that took up half the map. And then theres the fact that in some cases you would fight in the absolute worst terrains possible: like on the side of a mountian were you would fight a battle with like a 30 degree slope and everything.

    Yeah i fought on a very steep slope once. Some sort of himalaya mountain range or something because i couldent even form a battleline properly. And when i tried to flank with my cavalry they were "very_tired" all the time with all the climbing up and down.

    I also want to see a larger battle map. I mean in RTW the armies are pretty close to each other. I'd like to march to the enemy search for them with my scouts and and lay down ambushes and lure the enemy into my trap. In RTW the maps are too small to do that and often not that interesting (but at times very enjoyable so perhaps no need for changing here). Some times it seems that the interesting features of the battle map like a small forrest are just too far outside the center of the map to play a significant role. I'd say it would be a damn nice improvement if the battlemaps are going to be like 2 times bigger than in RTW. For this I would be willing to sacrifice the unit detail and leave it as it is like RTW.
