    Default CTD at Fayum Oasis & Maxim glitch

    Last night I took Fayum Oasis three times from the Mahdists. After each battle got a CTD. Finally I auto resolved and took the place without a CTD.

    Also got my first Maxim guns, but they have now disappeared three times. After each battle, without taking any casualties, they disappear off the unit cards. The last time this happened, I made sure to check their unit card before getting out of the battle and they were still there with all three crewmen, but when I checked the unit cards after exiting the battle, they were gone.

    I have run into these issues as well. Not necessarily at Fayum Oasis, but I had a fair number of ctds immediately after a battle (The battle played fine). I think it might have had something to do with killing a character (general). Autoresolving most of these battles after the crash allowed me to continue just fine. Also I get a ctd if I eliminate the mahdists, like clockwork.

    I think the problem with the disappearing maxim has to do with NTW's threshold for disbanding understrength units. I had the same problem, after a much nastier glitch detailed below, and seem to have fixed it by increasing the maxim crew size. Man do they vet up quick.

    On a related note, the maxim was initially causing a very nasty graphical glitch when firing (big white squares mixed in with the smoke, and the flame looked like a negative image. When I realized that my gatling guns still worked I was able to swap the shot type and get it working fine. Just in case anyone else has the same problem.

    *new maxim glitch* They hop! Well, to be precise, they recoil backwards, or they do for me. I think this is due to using a cannon firing animation, but the trouble either way is that the maxim reload animation lacks the part where the crew roll their gun back into position. By the end of a long battle my MGs creep back from the line and start mulching up my infantry from behind. I switched column 4 in gun_types to engine_gatling and the recoil stopped, but I'm sure there's a very good reason why thats not an ideal solution.

    CTD's before, during or just after a battle in campaign as Brits. Retstart and continue campaign and it plays fine for a while, then it does it again on another battle etc etc etc
