I know it sounds weird but it may not be bad for custom battles

There are currently no plans to have the Japanese in the mod, whether in custom battles or not. Even if they were, I'd not include a civil war between two sides who aren't even on the campaign map-it takes up too many factions slots and is a lot of work for very little gain.

If you're really that keen on this war, I recommend getting Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai.

As for this mod: I just look forward to playing as my beloved Britain in the second half of the 19th century.
