Hey
Some quick background info:
Basically ive been making music for a couple of years now on and off, with no real serious intentions, only releasing the very odd track under an electronic alias me and my friend go under.
Well, now ive decided it would be a good idea to get my music out there now that i have a little more experience and confidence . Ive messed around with soundtrack music before, nothing serious, just a little mod for mount and blade that flopped and never went anywhere.
So i thought since Shogun 2 is going to be released soon, making a music mod with my own compositions instead of the usual compilations from movies etc would be a good idea and an interesting project.
A little info about the mod itself and what my plans are.
I plan on modding the battle music mainly, though i might venture into the campaign map area. Composing the slower paced, more ambient campaign music might bore me however and since im not getting paid for it id see no reason to continue.
So in a nutshell, i plan on modding deployment/battle/victory/defeat music, anything else is a maybe.
I have no knowledge whatsoever of Japanese scales or composition methods (No music theory knowledge at all actually) so anyone with a big interest in traditional Japanese music might not like what they hear, id suggest avoiding the mod if you know your Japanese music well, or just keep this in mind.
One last thing, dont expect this to compete with Jeff Van Dycks soundtrack at all, hes a professional composer, he has many more years of experience than myself and hes probably more talented all round to put it bluntly. This project is just a little challenge for myself and it wouldnt be much use if i kept it to myself.
Heres a preview for ya'll

EDIT:could one of the mods delete the preview/wip part of the thread title, didnt notice the prefix option. Cheers
Feedback welcome.
