So long you have to live with a new concept, where i want your critique (hint: The Minimap):

What do you think? Just right, too cartoonish?
With my experience as commander in rl i must say this is very nice and handy you can follow the battle on tactics much better on that mini map!

Propably i didn't said it, but i want to bring the civil war athmosphere up to a new level (in comparision to B&G ) and one way to achieve that is to implement new custom statics... proof of concept here:

Primergy, since we have the init part converter at least somewhat working, will you be upgrading the union models to the NTW style?

Problem is, it doesn't work for me and neither me nor the developer found a solution till now, so i think i'll have to use the empire models :/.

    Edit:

Want to add, that i decided to release my modification for the Regimental Battle Flags as Standalone Mod.

    Take a look here

Will this mod expand or is it going to be a sp and mp battles mod only?

It will be an MP and SP (for those who don't want to play MP) only... or do you want to fight the american civil war in france and paris? .

New campaign maps aren't possible, so it'll probably be sp/mp

    Maybe

I have one question: I don't know much about modding, but ETW and NTW use the same game engine, right? Couldn't you then import the ETW models, and then replace the hands and heads to ones from NTW? This would give the soldiers a more of a NTW feel and still have the proper clothes. I don't know if this is possible, as I'm not a modder, but just wondering if it could work.

Well, the ETW models just have 2 variations, like 2 heads, 2 hats, 2 uniforms, 2 legs and so on... you can't get that much detail on ETW models. For version 3.0 of our ETW mod, we wanted to introduce a more detailed model, you can see here. This is ETW:

I was a typical Brit who stuck his nose up at American history. Recently, I have looked beyond the end of my nose and have been reading up on American history which I would have before avoided like the plague. I cannot tell you, gentlemen, how excited I am for this mod. I would play the Empire version however my PC is rubbish and Napoleon runs like a treat.
My hat off to you all, I eagerly await the release!

    Who we are
North and South is a branch of our sucessful Modification "The Blue and the Grey" which aims to bring you back to the bloody battlefields of the American Civil war (1861 - 1865) in unseen Quality and Details for the Game Napoleon: Total War by Creative Assembly.

New Modding Abilities allow us recreate the American Landscape and also to implement new tactial features for Multiplayer, but to reach this aim we need your assistance! Many Things have to be done which can't be done by one alone, so if you a fan of this Conflict and you want to work with an experienced, professional, motivated and dedicated team, don't miss this opportunity!

    North and South Link

    Visuals

Who do we need? We need help on nearly all fields of modding, but on some more then on others .

    1. Coding (DB, XML, txt, Lua)
    2. 3D Models (Unitmodels, Statics)
    3. 2D Work (UI, Signatures)
    4. Mappers

Be aware that we don't need any "Full-time" Researchers. If you see an Error point it out in our Thread.
Also Betatesters aren't needed, those will be recruited in time.

    What do we expect?
You should be able to work in a team, which often means that you can't do what you want but what your's assignment. Though there's still a lot of freedom .
You should be able to get things done with a high quality. Freetime should be avaible to and you should be also mature enough to say when you got no time anymore instead of suddenly disappearing and taking all your work with you.
Be aware that none of us has the time to teach you modding basics. You need an already decent knowledge of your Area where you want to work on, which applies escpecially for 3D and 2D Guys.

Applications by experienced R:TW and M2:TW Modder who want to get into the new Engines are very welcomed!

What do we offer? We offer you a an experienced Team, whose members already gained some breakthroughs in ETW and NTW Modding, A professional organisation thanks to your SVN Server and a lot of fun!

Yes, a lot of units, projectiles and balancing wants to get implemented but unitmodels, statics, maps, graphics, mapping don't allow me to do so .
