Im a composer, well sort of as ive never released anything, my question is how does the music system work on this engine. Im planning on making my own music mod, not that Jeff Van Dycks is bad from what ive heard but as a kind of challenge for myself and to get my music out there.
Ive been making music for quite some time now and no one but a small group of friends have heard any of it.
Basically im planning on making a music mod, but not your average music mod, all music will be original and composed by me, obviously with a fitting japanese style, or as close as i can get with my current software and libraries.
I understand the game has a looping system so my questions are
1. Firstly is there a way to extend the duration of these loops without knowledge of binary?
2. Secondly how exactly does the music system work dynamically, i remember in Rome and Medieval there was deployment/ marching but as the 2 armies met or you gave your first attack command the music would change to something more dramatic. Does Shogun share this system?
3.Does the game randomly choose between tracks meant for the same purpose.
Example, i make 3 battle phase tracks, how does the engine go about choosing which one plays or is it randomly chosen as id imagine.
If anyone is interested in this project and/or wants to hear some demos or wips i will pm or upload them and post a link. I have however only started work on this so there isnt much done.
The tracks probably wont be finalised until they are released as well.
