    Hello to all AUM-SHO players,

    today I released AUM-SHO 1.1 and here are the changes.


    - enhanced the "General" units with "rapid_advance" and "second_wind"
    - enhanced the "Great Guard" unit with "stand_firm" and "rapid_advance"
    - "Samurai Retainers" use "rapid_advance"
    - all "Naginata" units use "pikewall_formation"
    - all "Ninja" units use "rapid_advance"

    AUM-SHO contains these changes of the unit abilites

    Hi swiss , maybe in the release you could change the Ninja armor on the battle map to more like this

    Swiss what about pike_squer formation for Ashi. /as it happened in tutorial/ ??????
    I see your files /with notepad/ and Ashi only use pike_wall.
    Ok then i trying modifiing the files and add this:

    repacked again and i got the ctd. What wrong, why not work? Or u can updated with your way?

    Great stuff Swiss! Always thought it was weird how the better trained Monks couldn't fire by rank yet the poorer trained Ashiguru could

    Hello Rigby, thanks for your suggestions. At the moment it isn't possible to edit the important "unit creation tables".

    I follow your thread Listing of possible units for Shogun 2
    regularly. So there is no need to post here these pics.

    Hello Hunor, did you unpack my file with taw's latest unit_variant <-> txt converter for NTW and S2TW?

    I recommend to use Notepad ++ with the base TSV files. Sometimes the normal Windows "Notepad" doesn't show the correct spacings in the file. And that's very import otherwise it can cause a CTD.

    In Notepad ++ you can add this line:
    "Inf_Spear_Yari_Samurai_Ashigaru" "pike_square_formation"

    Then pack it again and add the table to your custom *.pack file.

    I will do several tests with all Yari units and the "pike_square_formation".

    > Normal version (patch_aum_sho_mod.7z)
    - added the abilities of two missing Generals
    - "Naginata Warrior Monk Hero" unit uses "rapid_advance"
    - "Naginata Samurai" uses "rapid_advance"
    - "Sword Katana Ronin" uses "rapid_advance"
    - all "Yari" units use "pike_wall_formation"

    > pike_square_formation test version = (patch_aum_sho_mod_pike_square.7z)

    - contains all changes of the normal version above
    - all "Yari" units except the "normal Yari Ashigaru" can use "pike_wall_formation" and "pike_square_formation".
    The "normal Yari Ashigaru" can only use "pike_wall_formation".

    I played several full battles created with Mitch's amazing Battle Creator to test the "pike_wall_formation" and "pike_square_formation"
    deeply.

    It looks like the Battle AI (BAI) can't really handle it well in the demo. I saw the BAI using the "pike_wall_formation" sometimes. But I never saw the BAI using the "pike_square_formation".

    Please give me some feedback if the BAI uses these formations in your battles.

    Today I saw the Shogun 2 user manual available on Steam.

    The next AUM-SHO 1.3 will be released as soon as possible after the upcoming release.

    The AUM-SHO 1.2 Demo version should work without problems in the release version.

    Please give me some feedback if the BAI uses the "pike_wall_formation" and "pike_square_formation" in your battles.

    I suggest adding teppo cavalry for Date clan (or all the other clans) for the AUM. It was deployed during the siege of Osaka, and they used a shortened version of teppo. However their existence is disputed by historians. But what the heck, it's fun to have something like dragoons.

    If you want a bit more information, google "騎馬鉄砲隊" and translate those pages using google. I couldn't find any English source.

    A few other ideas:

    - Add a small group of retainers with unbreakable morale when a castle is in siege.
    - Give the peasants some bamboo spears instead of proper weapons.
    - Soldiers with portable cannons like these:

    These are called "Oodutu", which means "large tubes". I think the model for fire rockets would be fine.

    I wonder is it possible to give ranked fire to the Fire Rockets units, since they only fire from the first row, so if you want to fire from every single one, you need to form several lines of just 1 unit, which might draw out you'r battle lines a lot.

    Hello W4lt3r, yes I tested the "rank fire" ability with the "Fire Rocket units" and it works well. This feature will be included in AUM-SHO 1.3.

    Today I received my Shogun 2 Collectors Edition.

    I tested AUM-SHO 1.2 and it works in single- and multiplayer mode. Both players must have the same AUM-SHO version installed for multiplayer.
