Recently (2 years ago) I took a tour guided trip through Bavaria, Baden Wurttembourg, Austria, and Switzerland. We landed in Frankfurt then drove to Rothenburg ob der Tauber which is an awesome little town. After a night there, we drove to Munich after a depressing visit to Dachau. After Munich, we moved to Oberammagau, which is a quiet little town. The next day we ventured to Neuschwanstein and the Wies Kirche, both near to the border with Austria. Our next stop was Innsbruck, Austria. We slept in Innsbruck, then headed towards Switzerland. Before we arrived in Lucern, Switzerland however, we took a "passport stamping" break in Vaduz , Liechtenstein, which is a very pretty country. We spent two nights in Lucern. The second day in there, we had the option to take a lift to the top of mount Pilatus, south east of Lucern, which I opted to do because I love mountains. From Lucern we moved to Heidelberg, Germany, after a stop in the Schwarzwald. From Heidelberg, it was back to Frankfurt International for an 8 hour flight home.
These are a few of my pictures from this trip which I've finally put on photobucket. I'll try to keep them in the order of my trip (however i don't have pictures from every town).
This is Dachau:

It was probably the most depressing place i've ever seen. For those who may not know, This was the first concentration camp that the Nazi's used and was the model for almost all other concentration camps. Unfortunately my photo of the gate: "Arbeit Macht Frei" didn't come out.
This is the Rathaus in Munich:

You can see the Glockenspiel in the middle. (the green area).
This was the Nazi Headquarters before it was moved to Berlin:

You can see the area where the Swastika(sp?) hung in the empty area. And yes, that's me in the Purdue jacket
This is the oldest museum that was originally built to be a museum in the world:

Ah yes, Hitler's War Table. Where a large amount of Nazi military planning was performed:

Finally leaving Munich.A very pretty church in Oberammagau:

Neuschwanstein. This is one of my favorite pictures:

A closer view of Ludwig's Fairy tale castle:

This is a castle that sits on a hill opposite Neuschwanstein. I can't remember the name of it :

This wasn't one of Ludwig's though. I remember it was at one point in time used as a hunting lodge.
Neuschwanstein again, from the south:

On to Lucern. This is a Jesuit Church on the river:

Now Heidelberg. This is inside the castle at Heidelberg:

The wall opposite me has a sculpture for every ruler of Germany starting with Charlemagne. I can't remember who the sculptures end with.
This pictures shows the destruction that cannons had on castles:

See how thick that wall is!
This is the castle looking up from the town of Heidelberg:
