It wouldve been pretty cool be around back in the renaissance days. Hell i could go around teaching how to do perspective drawings. Its amazing to think that before that people didnt really know much about perspective drawings.

I wouldve loved to be able to go a back and help leonardo with his drawings and make stuff

‘I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.’ - Leonardo Da Vinci

Leonardo left fewer than 30 paintings, and these aren’t even all finished, thirteen are generllay considered to be finished . But before you think you can do the same and still go down in art history, remember he also left hundreds of drawings, sketches, and pages of notes. His reputation isn’t just based on his paintings. In fact when applying for a job in Milan he mentioned that he was a mathemitician, a historian, an astronomer, an alchemist, and inventor, an architect, an inventor and a military engineer, he didn't mention he was a painter or draughtsman or sculptor.

You notice I mentioned sculptor but you've never seen a sculpture by Da Vinci, have you? There are no pieces of sculpture that can definitely be attributed to Leonardo, even though art historians know he learned sculpture when an art apprentice in Verrocchio’s studio. (So remember to sign your work!)

Leonardo was born out of wedlock on 15 April 1452. But if he hadn’t been, he might not have been apprenticed to the artist Andrea del Verrocchio, as he would have more occupations open to him. As it was, being illegitimate, his options were limited. The only thing known for sure about his mother is that her name was Caterina; art historians believe she probably worked in the household of Leonardo’s father, Ser Piero da Vinci.

Unusually for the era in which he lived, Leonardo was a vegetarian, for humanitarian reasons.

His name wasn't Da Vinci at all, that is just where he claimed to be from, his name was really Leonardo di ser Piero and he was actually from Anchiano, the reason we call him Da Vinci is because he was the illigetimate son of a wealthy Notary (who's name was phillipo or piero or pipplepo...edepo, or something, i can't remember). Anyway, his Father had other legitimate sons, Leonardo tried to make himself appear more legitimate and entitled to some inheritence. But alas, his half brothers were areseholes and he got nothing. That's actually why he had to become an apprentice to verrochio in the first place, becuase his father couldn't have him hanging around his notary office speaking his milanese (he was educated in Milan) dialect and calling him his son..... I guess.

I'm not really a big follower of the arts, and the Mona Lisa to me always had too broad of a forehead to be bluntly honest, but as an inventor and engineer I give Da Vinci his just dues. Man was a genius.

Kinda goes to show you can be born to "filth" and poverty, near the lowest points and still rise to greatness.
You cannot pick and choose what to follow from your holy books. If you are truly a Christian, you must follow the bible by the letter. One read through Leviticus, where the disabled are barred from Church attendance, and homosexuals should be the least of your worry. It's the whole book or none of it, and to follow the whole book is to be immoral.
    So it goes.

His drawings have a sort of androgyny to them that still feels natural. Its beautifully masculine women and beautifully feminine men. Da Vinci is one if the greats.

Back in 1963, when Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous portrait was exhibited in New York (presented by JFK). The Mona Lisa was treated “as though it were a film star. People came not to look at it, but to say that they’d seen it.” This marks the beggenning of the gortesque commerciality of art and this is called the Mona Lisa curse.
