I want a game where one huge RTW battle constitutes either "the first charge" or, "the left flank"..
Reserves would be an excellent idea to implement. Something more advanced than the reinforcements in RTW. In the campaign map you could have an army of 60+ units, but they arrive in waves of 20 units at a time. Longer battles, but not so much strain on the graphics cards, since you would still have the same number of troops on the battlefield. Plus you could position the reserves so they would hit the enemy in the back just as they thought they won.

Routing would get more depth as well. Units that routed could come back with the next wave, as everyone feels braver when you have 1,000 men beside you. Massive, long, tactical battles. Great fun

You could have armies of 10 000 20 000 30 000 and so on. But how do you think the program would work? it probably would lag alot and just terrible to play. I like the smaller skirmish like battles because say a cavalry charge is more desicive in smaller battles than larger ones. Besides I think it was mentioned before that the soldiers ratio to real life was 1:10 or something like that.
