esf editor work fine with changing the age or money
also work if you want to extent the duration an effect that your faction have(e.g: +100% art from 8 turn to 20 or 100)
work if you want to give your units some exp or may be even fill up the rank for dead soldiers
Empire II and Medieval III pls
Will there be update soon? I have some problems with copy-pasting or duplicating anything inside the saves, as it seems to corrupt the saves all the time. Strangest thing is that I am actually doing exactly same copy-paste opeartion for different unit(s) that worked fine before. Also the 1.4.6 version (I am currently using, as the 1.4.8 seems to corrupt the saves without exception every time I do anything) seems to have strage tendency of changing the portrait entries of the characters without touching that entry on some occasions...
Just save it as a new save

Nope, again gives the same error as before. Also for some reason it saves them into format .empire_save instead of the usual .save format.

Hey All,
Has anybody attempted to use the ESF editor to alter character names by any chance?
I have tried it various times, sometime it works, sometime it does not, I extracted the names pack file to ensure names like Hidetada are in and whether they are specified for an individual clan or Japanese.
Would be great if anyone could let me know if they have had any success with this.

PPle having problems edditng the patch startpos (latest) with ESF 1.48 use the link posted 2 pages back by Anastasios for ESF 1.46 it works fine.

I can confirm that version 1.4.6 will not corrupt the savegames.
The only thing that I've done is to change the treasury for a single clan, but there was no CTD upon loading. I use Windows 7 Premium Home Edition, and the only mod I'm using is Darth's (which I recommend, because it allows you to switch from ultra- and normal-size units, or back to vanilla size units and stats).

1.4.6 seems to allow once to copy-paste or duplicate entries and after that it will start to corrupt saves when duplicating or copying entries. This is happening atleast for many people by my knowledge. It has also changed the picture references for some generals or children without any warning, so it is adviceable to keep copy of the orginal file for copying later the orginal references if this happens.
Where can I get the 1.4.6 version?, I cant find it anywhere..

i've tried a range of changes, but i'm most interested in deleting certain entries (yes, I know what i'm doing) and changing finances. still crashing...

After a crash with the 1.4.6 I can't open the ESF again... it runs fine and shows up in the task bar, but the window won't open for me... I tried to Alt+Tab and klick the icon, but it refuses to show up... And the 1.4.8 always crashes and doesn't change my starting money...

I tried to change the amount of money in:
savegames/NAME
CAMPAIGN_ENV
CAMPAIGN_MODEL
WORLD
FACTION_ARRAY
FACTION_ARRAY (the first one)
FACTION_ECONOMICS
But when I try to load the savegame it crashes.
Any one know how to do change the amount of money?
