    Default Using the Debug Cam

Just to let you all know the debug cam from empire and napoleon is still present meaning you can get as close or far away from your men as you like .

    So to unlock it:

    Go to

    C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2\scripts

And in preferences.script change the line

    default_camera_type 1; # default_battle_camera <card32>, default battle camera: 0-totalwar 1-rts 2-debug #

    to

    default_camera_type 2; # default_battle_camera <card32>, default battle camera: 0-totalwar 1-rts 2-debug #

But if you change any settings ingame the camera will return to default so watch out for that.

On a side note you can set the file to read only to avoid this but that means you cant change settings ingame.

Thanks, but afaik from ETW/NTW you can still change settings ingame; once you restart the game it'll always change back to what has changed in the script

Also, if anyone has a distaste for the battle "camera shake", you can turn that off in the preference script as well.

Old things for ETW/NTW, just confirming them present in Shogun.

Hm, interesting. I didn't see the PIP in game nor the option to enable it. So it's either 1) Not included in the demo or 2) Not included in the game, and the option is just leftover code from NTW.

Page Up = Speed up the Camera

Page Down = Slow down the Camera movement.

Either press rapidly or hold down the button.

whats interesting about using the debug camera is that you can go under the ground texture and see that there is moving water under the entire battlemap

camera_move_speed 10; thats what u have to search for i made 10 coz i needed it very slow for my cinematic videos... i tired out some more numbers and 25 is the best speed i think

beside that u can also change the unit slots in custom battles in the sscripts that caused allot of trouble in NTW coz one unhonourabe clan did that and cheated that way in the online battles

u can also chaneg the range of the units and the size of the units but thats pretty senseless coz it will start lagging then

i do that (default_camera_type 2), but sometime it has not run well. Try it, open patch3.pack and look for:
    _kv_rules_tables
    _kv_rules
    battle_camera_max_distance_from_army
    reset 200 to 5000
In battle move your mouse first (turn left and right), then use your keyboard. The game has run ok.
