New Simian Units: Pongo
The kingdom of Simia is composed of three different races, all from the same home planet: Babun, Utan, and Pongo. The Babun have tan fur and are the most common of the three races. The Utan have orange fur and were responsible for domesticating the striped unicorns found in the southern continent. The Pongo are the most robust of the three races and have black fur. They settled mainly in the regions of "Simia" and "Monkey Island". They traditionally make use of the abundant obsidian on the volcanic Monkey Island. In battle, they wear feathers plucked from defeated Avians. The ruling Babun sect equipped Pongo soldiers with iron maces, making the best infantry Simia has to offer.
These units will be recruitable by Simia only in the regions named "Simia" and "Monkey Island".

Very Great work Smolka, pat on the back

I just found about this mod and it looks very interesting. It might be the best sci-fi mod for M2TW. Great Job!
I 'd like to say two things now:
1.As far as the humans are concerned, I voted for Human empire, because I believe that since we call them humans, the empire should contain "human" in it's name or something about earth, like Gaia, or Terra. Imo definately no Arean empire, because it confuses me in Greek, because Mars in Greek is called planet Aris, and martians, Areanoi.
2. You mentioned that in this mod there is not going to be any gunpowder. Well, I have a proposal, unless someone else has suggested this before , or you mentioned it somewhere and I didn't see it. What if the aliens that had conquered earth, looked for their slaves and returned? They could be something like Mongols in vanilla Medieval, an emergent faction, who would have firearms, or lassers! They could be an emergent faction, or just appear some stacks of army, all heading against some city, like crusades.
Thanks for the input Christonikos.
1. Naming the Human Empire the "Terran Empire" won't work because of this faction.
Terrans..............(Terran Heavy Infantry)
2. The aliens that conquered the humans(and other aliens) became stranded on the new planet along with everyone else. Their ship was destroyed and they lost contact with their homeworld. These aliens fled to a remote continent and founded the Cryptic Empire. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...=428039&page=3 Their continent is the only one separated by deep ocean (only crossable with the carrack). They will be the only faction to begin the game able to recruit carracks. This means that they can attack other factions, but no one can attack them on their own soil until they are able to recruit carracks. I could give them gunpowder, but I don't want to make them too overpowered.

Well, I read about the Cryptic empire. What about if the aliens from their home planet arrived, with 3 stacks of army for instance and tried to colonize this planet as well, using their advanced technology with lassers and lightsabers? They would not be able to reqruit any units, but their initial army would be very op. They would be hostile to everyone, but Cryptic empire and exterminate all cities they conquered. They would appear quite late and before their appearance, there could be a pop-up information panel saying: " A spaceship arrives "
Something else I am curious about: What is the human empire's flag? Is it an X? Why is that?
Thanks for the proposal Christonikos. I like this idea. However, I have used all the faction slots including Mongols, Timurids, Normans, and Saxons. I don't plan on adding a new alien faction. If it is possible to spawn an army for a faction already in the game, I will do this. I'm not sure if I can give them lasers (unless another mod has already modified the gun projectile and lets me borrow this). If possible, a Cryptic Empire army of units with firearms could spawn mid-game. These units would not be recruitable. They could be from a second Cryptic spaceship that crashes on the planet and would give their faction an extra boost. I don't want a full scale invasion from space (modern weapons vs swords) because I think that would pretty much end the game right there.
The Human Empire symbol is a golden-yellow saltire (an X) on a red background. This is all that is left of the Christian cross. The state religion of the empire is basically a continuation of Christianity(and Islam) after the coming of a new messiah, Mike Slate. Some Muslims refused to accept an Anglo-American as their savior and joined the rebels. Since the majority of the empire's citizens are the decendants of Christians, an old Christian symbol was adopted as the battle banner. The fact that the cross has been tilted into an "X" represents the new twisted religion of Slateism. The golden "S" (superman symbol) is the new religious symbol, however only members of the "Holy Order of Mike Slate" are allowed to wear this holy symbol.

I named the human capital "New Earth".
And a last question. When is this mod estimated to be ready, even as a beta version. I really can't wait!
I'm hoping to have it done by this winter.
I'm not promising this though.

May I suggest a human unit, I didn't see?
Charriots. Seems like many gamers miss them from RTW.
BTW, the hoplites are going to be spearmen or infantry? They carry a spear at the photos..Anyways, I 'd like to see macedonian phalanx formations.
Thanks for the input Christonikos. I just made the "Creaton Hoplites" into a phalanx unit. They use Banzai's Macedonian phalanx animation. Unlike the pikemen used by the Ceroleans, these units do not switch to using swords in a melee.
Credit for the hoplites, shields, and spears goes to the Thera team.

Thanks for the input Medievaldude. The "Odon Hoplites" are now using Banzai's overhand hoplite animation.

Since they are based on Greek mythology, I also gave the Minotaurs hoplites.
