Powder hair should be only for guard and elite units.
About faces, they should be clean (I hate vanilla uncleaned face) and only elite units should wear the moustache.

But, if we want to be really historically accurate, units should not wear full dress uniform...

    Suggestions about icons.

As I really like to use flags as icons, I suggest to use small icons to represent unit type :

This idea come from Romulu$ first.
Icons look good for infantry, but, as cavalry flags are larger, cavalry's icons don't look as good as infantry icons.

EDIT 1 : new cavalry icons
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I think they look better now.
I probably change dragoons and hussars unit type icon.
Dragoons type should be a sword and a bayonet crossed together.
I think hussars type icon should be a sword crossed with something, but I've no idea with what...
    Maybe a lance ?
If someone has some idea ?

You can use the Texture Coordinate Editor from MS3D

Select all faces (Ctrl + A)
Open Texture Coordinate Editor (Ctrl + T)

The Texture Coordinate Editor is easy to use and it's good enough for such small modification.

But, if you want to work on heavier modifications, you will have to use a better software to create UVMap.
Ultimate Unwrap 3D is really great, but it's not free.

    I've forgot an important detail

When you open your model with MilkShape :
    1. Go to Materials and select a texture
    2. Select all face (Ctrl +A)
    3. Open Texture Coordinate Editor (Ctrl +T)
    4. Select the vertice group you want modify

    Be carefull with "Remap" option.
This will create a new UVMap for the selected group.
As this editor is very basic, it can be a bad idea with a complicated shape

Using 3d moddeling would it be possible to design a more realistic drum? The vanilla one is really poor. great work BTW

If you speak about drum and not drummer, reading Top Cat and Primergy tutorials, I think it's possible to create drums with accurate textures.
As drums are considered as equipment (or weapon), it should be possible to create a new drum equipment and giving it the right texture.

I think that battle_personalities table is useful to do this.
    Create a fr_drummer personalities
Create a new equipment (french_drummer in equipment_variant_mesh file and texture in equip_diffuse.dds and others texture files)

It's not a priority now, but I'm thinking about.
An other project will be to create an accurate Gribeauval carriage...
But I don't know if I will have enough time to do this

Getting your custom weapons in game tutorial from T.C

As euro-drummer primary weapon is a euro_straightsabre, I should remove sword from the model.

To create a new drum, it is necessary to :
    • create a new equipement group in warscape_equipment_themes db table
    • rigid_equip_fr_rdrumstick, rigid_equip_fr_ldrumstick, rigid_equip_fr_drum should be add to the "fr_drum" equipment group

It is possible to enlarge the equip_diffuse, gloss_map and normal dds file to a 2048x2048 pixels.
Using UU3D, it is possible to rework the UVMap, simply scaling down its height to 0.5.
Using MS3D, it is possible to duplicate the euro_drum.

But I don't know if it will really work in game

Hello Wangrin and team , nice work, the models are getting excellent. The French deserved such improvements. It would be nice to have new types of artillery for the French based on the Gribeauval types . Congratulations to the whole team and continue the excellent work.
