Provided I am still motivated and around when this project comes to completion, I'll likely make it compatible. I already have files from Pom's British and Sponge mod working for DMUC, so it is just a matter of adjusting some more stats. My goal would eventually be to have a full (as full as possible) set of mid-18th Cent. skins fitted inside DMUC. Mind you, I'm also making changes to the rank and files spacings (tightening the formations, see the screenshot), so it may not be to the liking of everyone.

UPDATE : work in Progress
CHASSEURS DE FISHER
Beautiful work! When I'm looking at this picture, your work, except for some colors, is perfect!
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Also, on your model, the "giberne" is on the wrong side (except if the picture is reverse ^^). Soldiers were wearing their sword on the left side and ammunitions on the right side. They couldn't switch.
Do you know what's the difference between a red or black giberne?
I just saw your "cuirassier". Nice work as well, and yes, his armor plate must be shiny. I will take a picture of one of my cuirassier armor at home.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
If you want I can also take pictures of French swords... but you can find plenty of references on the internet I bet. And I'm not sure it would be interesting to make a new model, as it's too hard to really see ingame which kind of sword soldiers get.
I was also wondering why ingame they don't have bayonets on their belts? Too much of a detail, so we don't really need it? Or rather they forget it?
About colonial units. I re-read your first page and there isn't the Compagnie de Canonniers-Bombardiers of Canada which was the first artillery unit raised in New-France. This colonial artillery unit was raised among the best soldiers of the Compagnies Franche de la Marine. Also, what about the Canadian Milice and the Indians? And at last but not least, since you put the Gardes du Corps de Bussy, you may add the Gardes du Gouverneur of Québec (dressed as Mousquetaires by royal "ordonnance"). But well, yes, this was a tiny unit...
Sorry for all this questions xD
PS: Sorry, I just read your work in progress board and there is the Colonial Cannoniers-Bombardiers.
PS2: the awesome website you found a while ago about the French colonial troops in India posted new threads a few days ago.
http://golcondarising.blogspot.com/
He found the flags used by the French Company in India!!! He posted pictures and informations about the French East Indies Battalion, the Volunteers of the Bourbon Militia (not in your WIP?) and the De Bussy's Volunteers (what's the difference with the Kerjean's volunteers??)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I love this guy, He even said he's going to post new pictures about the volunteers flag!

162eRI :
I've used "etrennes militaires" from 1756 and pictures from Michel PETARD as a base for "chasseur de Fisher" model (you can have a look to pictures in one of the firsts posts from this thread).
They didn't mention white "fleur de lys" nor white edging for the hat.
Moreover, buttons should be yellow, not white nor silver and epaulettes were not red but golden (aurore).
This picture look like some earlier description (1747).
Gibernes were "natural" leather, not black.
Crossbelt and belt were buff, not leather.
The problem with UU3D is that this software "reverse" right and left.
But the model will look correct in game contrary to what UU3D show.
About cuirassier, I don't work on texture yet, it was only a way to see how it should look.
I didn't represent all equipments.
I've add bayonnet to "Legion Lombarde" model and I could do the same with SYW French infantry, but it's not a top priority.
If someone want to do it...
About Canada, I will certainly work on milice and some indian auxilaries, but later.
But I will not add "Gouverneur of Québec" guard because this unit was disbanded far earlier (1667).
EDIT1 :
Golcondarising is one of the blog I check regularly.
It give me some idea for some more native auxilaries and native hussars for Bussy's army, but chuuuuutttt, it's a secret
EDIT2 :
Kerjean was Dupleix' nephew and he raise a volunteer company.
Their uniform was different from Bussy's volunteers (foreign company).
Cool, can't wait to see more ^^ Thanks for the quick answer.
About the gibernes, there were black and "red" gibernes (or perhaps it's late XVIIIth century for the black ones?). Of that I'm sure, not only because drawings are showing such colors, but also because my father own a XVIIIth century French black giberne. They were using black or red "polish". For the belts, I'm on the same line as you, they were made of buff and thus "white". Leather painted in white is more late XVIIIth century and Napoleonic wars... right? I've got somewhere a Napoleonic Gendarme white leather belt for "briquet" saber.
About the "gardes du gouverneur de Québec", I checked with my teacher, the unit was disbanded after the fall of New France in 1763. Each new governor of New France was bringing with him a new guard unit. If the governor was wealthy, the guard was well equiped. If the governor was poor, it was ill equiped. You can read during the last battle of the Indians and French war that Montcalm was often with his mounted guards. Such cavalry men were used during the fall of Quebec after the British victory at the plains of Abraham, to deliver messages to the garrison of Quebec. Also, at the beginning, they didn't have horses. I can find you the references if you want ;-)
Good luck for your hard work. Cheers ;-)
Montcalm was not the governor of Quebec, most generals had a small cavalry unit which would act as their guards/couriers this is probably what that is referring to.
Though you are correct in saying that the Governor's Guard was never disbanded until La Conquete it was also never really used as a combat formation and usually only numbered about a dozen or so men, except on important days when it would be increased (most likely by the Marines) to insure order was maintained. The real elite infantry unit would have been the Cannoniers-Bombardiers who when not at their guns were given the same privileges as grenadiers (allowed to have mustaches, golden metalwork on their muskets, sabres)
About giberne, I was speaking about SYW era.
Late XVIIIth century gibernes use black dyed leather.
About "buffleterie" (belt and crossbelt) they were buff colored, white dyed leather is of later use (late XVIIIth century).
About "Garde du Gouverneur", the only picture I know was the one you've posted above.
But this uniform was far ealier than SYW era.
Did your teacher know a later uniform description ?

Thanks Flikitos
I think I will rework the bearskin for Royal-Allemand ant others German line cavalry.
The bearskin need some strings like the late mirliton.
Is it really yours !
You've done an excellent work on this blog and it is really usefull : informations, pictures, bibliography, etc.
I check it nearly every day![]()
I was thinking to draw inspiration from yours Indians painted figures to create some native auxilaries : hindu, mysorean, bengali.
I'm also searching for some pictures about Maratha, but I will not work on them before finishing Nec Pluribus Impar.
I've posted some informations about Maratha that I read in Raj Kumar's book in Imperial Splendour's faction discussion thread.
But I've very few informations about theirs clothes and "uniforms".
Ok! I will have painted figures of the Mysoreans up shortly. I have recently found some nice pics of trained Bengali sepoys, artillery and cavalry as well. I will be posting this info up shortly. I also have some nice pics of Marathas but was saving that for a while. Let me know when you start and I can provide it if it hasn't already been posted up on the blog. I will be posting up info on flags at the same time.
Regards
Dave
Thank you very much Sir
