No screen shot is required, that is all the info in the Java error box.... As far a posting this in the main minecraft forum, the problem was posted there but never resolved

I've got the new minecraft launcher and Avast! marks it as clean. I'd say you're good to go.

Norton: My old desktop was completely malfunctioning, windows explorer wouldn't even run. Through the task manager I managed to download the free version of AVG, to make sure there was no virus. Norton had been installed for several years (the last year of which it constantly bugged me about a backup, that I didn't want), yet when i installed AVG it found in the first minute 5 serious viruses, and in the first day upwards of 15, even though I had run several scans with Norton.

So basically, NORTON IS

And to make this at least a bit on-topic, the launcher works for me
