Sure, they just busy themselves with modding rather than PR while some of us try to do both.

So will have a division of of the Papacy!? That would be awesome! You could have England supporting the Rome Papacy, Spain, Scotland and Portugal supporting the French Papacy, and then you could have wars against each other based on that, until the two Pope's are unified again.

That's not the point (the excommunication). I merely asked if you could appoint an antipope as France (as they historically did). And a division of the papacy is possible, just look at the dHRR mod.

Also it doesn't matter what France did, it matters what it is going to do inside the game .
I am very curious about this feature and I wonder how it will affect the game.

What is beyond me here tbh is why these events are being called France appointing an antipope? When did France do such a thing?

True, but they basically controlled the elections. You could compare it with the Soviet Union and the DDR. The former didn't really control the government of the latter, but the SU had so much influence on it that you could basically say they controlled the goverment of East Germany.

And can you prove that the French king controlled the elections? Wikipedia link as I'm sure you know proves nothing of the sort.

Try typing "Western Schism" in Google Scholar or Google Books.
