Here mate, a tutorial to add it by yourself. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=281344
I've start there first. It's a good one.
Sir! I stand humbly in your service. I supressed my jubilation upon finding your mod some days ago until just having installed the Miles into SS6.4. The only misfortune I observe initially is the comparative lack of realistic appearence of forces that can only complement those dirty battle-harded forces you have generously offered. And I really like the way you have kept to submitting single units to allow for all of us to as to various mods, submod, and personal edits. Very useful.
I have played with changing around some of the units in SS for much the same reason as you mod supremely succeeds. I have used Boyars and other Russian/KRus units as Saxons and Norsemen to give Denmark and Norway some variety. Works well enough as I never play in Eastern Europe. But finding your units (that rival those of a couple of the yet to be released mods) I am much elated at the increased appearance of my now Frenchy's Norman Cavalry.
. . .
On the Feudal Knights, I would only say to consider brighting one or more of the colors. Drab is best and tru but if one of the 3 figures (yellow, red, green) in the middle of this pic was brightened a bit or give a crest, Flanders Lion, etc. it may help distinuish the individuals even more. But possibly not.
Regardless, well done Sir on your finely clad knights and militas!

Thank you for the kind words sir! I hear what your saying with brightening the units up a bit and adding more heraldry to the surcoats, but I've chosen to do them this way for two reasons:
1) I'm trying to go for a "realistic" look, kind of like what you see in period films such as Robin Hood, Kingdom of Heaven, and Braveheart. I KNOW that these movies may not 100% accurately portray medieval units, however when you look at knights' tunics they tend to have a more "worn" or "faded" look to them which I think is appealing. I HATE the ridiculously bright, colorful look of the stock vanilla units...
2) In terms of heraldry, I plan on addressing this in the upgraded version of the feudal knights. With the earlier version, I'm going for the c. 1200 look when heraldry was still emerging. Many of the reference pictures I am using contain heraldry on shields and to a lesser extent on helmets, but the tunics themselves often contain some sort of medieval pattern. As you get further along in the 13th century, you start seeing it shown promiently on the surcoats and tunics themselves.
If I'm wrong on either of these two points, please let me know your thoughts.
I'd also like to give everyone a quick update on the mod's progress...
As I've mentioned earlier, things are much slower now than when I first began this little project. I have quite a lot going on in RL these days, and I also just picked up Shogun 2, which is taking up a little of my time as well
I'm almost done working on the French faction skin though, hopefully I'll have something to post over the next few days.
Thank you to everyone for your kind words and appreciation!
Yes, the vanilla units are closer to a 21st century NFL uniform that blinds you to look at to long. Indeed and indeed. You are surely on the right path. Imagine if the original game would have spent so much attention on detail, well then we would have nothing to complain about and improve upon I supose. M2TW + KK + Frenchy + others as well, and we may eventually end up with a game we play for decades, until hollow-decks begin to come on line![]()
Im fairly certain heraldry was first displayed on shields more then anything. I think the first major use of heraldry on tunics, as far as western europe goes, would have been the crusades when they painted red crosses on their tunics.
As far as the french roster goes. Please tell me your going to make the french knights look better then vanilla.
As promised, here's the pics of the French faction skin I've been working on...
Enjoy!

It sucks that we are on the same mod team with Battle of the Western Monarchs, cause you changed the same unit for the same faction I did...... and did it better. (Then again, mine was my first try)
Here was mine:
+ rep Frenchy. Are you planning on re-doing the mounted versions as well? And are you going to do later armor upgrades or stick with mail for now?
Really good looking.
Thanks for the offer, as you said though it's pretty easy. Just need to add spears, change a few comments and it's all set. Doesn't take more than 5 minutes
I'll definitely be making mounted versions, I'm just focused on getting the different faction skins done first. I'll probably do a few more before I release anything (Scotland, HRE, etc...)
Yes, these early feudal knights are appropriate for the early 13th century, the next version I put out will look more like mid/late 13th century units. I plan on eventually doing a set for the 14th century as well, but who knows when I'll actually get around to it...
Hey dude, just curious, but any plans for re-doing Templars or any of the other holy orders? Vanilla just looks so.
Oh. Awesome.
